“Best stay ever!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

This hostel was the best in terms of many things- it had the perfect location possible and everything was nearby-Tram, bus stop, many pubs, shisha and eating places . Staff too was very friendly and cooperative. Rooms were pretty clean and they had a great atmosphere for party too...will recommend to stay at backpackers to all my friends who will visit Krakow in the future

Great hostel near the center ,great location, right next to the center, really really nice people and the prices are unbeatable.
You can't find a better place if you prefer to spend your money on beers, party and culture than on overly expensive place to stay.
The people are cool and don't be afraid to share a drink with them or even to stay at the hostel and party with them.

This hostel couldn't really have a better location - it is only a short walk to the main bus/train station, and just metres from the main square of krakow. Exploring the old town of krakow is easy - it's right outside, and the old Jewish district kazimierz, which has plenty of history as well as a great party atmosphere at night, is again only a short walk.
The hostel is tucked away in a pretty little courtyard, and the staff are great - incredibly helpful and liable to become your friends.

I stayed here with 5 friends for one night, and it was enough to say I'll never come back again. The only pros are that it's close to the city centre (actually, it's IN the city centre) and that it's cheap. The rooms were small and dirty, the wi-fi sucked, the bathrooms were really dirty and some of the facilities broken. I even found some puke in the sink at night. The hostel was really noisy at night. We were woke up by some idiots shouting, and we were surprised when we noticed that the hostel owner were AMONG THEM!
If your only interest is to spend a small amount of money this is the place for you, if not, don't come here!

Easily the best location in Krakow for this price range! Less than two minutes walk to the main market square, and only about 10 minutes walk to the train station. We stayed in a private twin room in June which was less than £8/night per person. It can be a little tricky to find, as it is hidden down a small corridor to a courtyard, and doesn't have any signage indicating that it is a hostel on the main street, but the building number (13) is easily visible from Florianska.

The room was clean, and the price included sheets and blankets and a small towel at no extra charge. It also included cornflakes for breakfast, although we never actually had any (there's a bakery a couple of streets away which sells pastries and doughnuts for about 30p each). The shared bathroom was also very clean, albeit busy as it's shared with the whole floor.

The surrounding area can be quite loud until about midnight/1am, as it's located just off a main street and is above a bar. Despite this, sleep quality wasn't a major issue, although the beds are a little hard and not the most comfortable I've ever had in a hostel.

There is a small newsagents/tobacconist at the end of the corridor to the main street which is a little cheaper than most other vendors nearby, which can save you having to walk far to buy beer (can't beat 65p for half a litre of Heineken!).

The staff are multi-lingual and were always friendly and helpful. The desk is manned 24 hours a day, so there's no risk of not being able to get back to your room.

Overall, I would definitely recommend staying at this hostel, and will be staying here again on my return to Krakow.

We stayed there for a weekend and had the best time. Good value for money, perfect perfect location! It's almost impossible to find a place closer to the heart of Krakow, and still it is quiet, hidden in a lovely courtyard. The staff is the star of this place. A bunch of great people, welcoming, helpful and fun. And there's a small free breakfast, which was a very nice surprise for. We'd definitely go back!
