“Great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2013

Hotel next to the station and huge newish shopping centre. Just a 10 minute walk to the Rynek and old town where there are plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants. The Ibis does a great breakfast but we didn't try the restaurant in the evening as we wanted to be in the heart of the town. Free wifi at the hotel. Decent sized room and bathroom. We did have to ask for extra pillows as they only provide one very small one each but it wasn't a problem and staff dealt with it straightaway. Very good value for money, stayed 2 nights and would definitely stay there again

First off, the location is perfect for a stop in Krakow, chances are you've flown there so you will be taking the train from the airport to Krakow Glowny in the town, and the Ibis is basically next to the train station. Up the platforms, through the galleria onto the main road, turn right and it's a 2 minute walk to the hotel, right in front of you, you can't miss it, perfect!

The reception has a small seating area, and opposite the front desk there are computers for guests to use (at a charge I think), although wifi is free throughout the hotel, and a dining/bar area to your right.

The reception staff (all 4 I spoke to) were extremely helpful, all could speak English and understand me very well, and were extremely helpful, no problems supplying extra bedding and storing suitcases.

The room is your standard chain-hotel fare, all was to a good standard, clean and worked well. TV with a couple of English channels, some storage space, good lighting and extra plug sockets.

The bed was VERY firm and the bedding is very warm which hindered my sleep somewhat as I wasn't entirely sure if the air-con was working either. The bed was also not particularly well "grounded" (it's on wheels) as when sat-up watching TV, the bed would roll forwards, this appears to be an ibis thing. Not a major problem as was fine when laid down and sleeping.

The bathroom was of adequate size, clean with a great walk-in shower, top marks for that.

We didn't use the restaurant as we felt it was a little overpriced compared to places in the old town for breakfast, and although the dinner menu looked great, we decided to try some local eateries.

Good location near railway station, public transport and walking distance to Old Town. Large shopping center nearby. Friendly staff who were eager to help with enquires and requests. Value for money. Good restaurant and food.

I stayed here 7 nights on a tourism trip. The Ibis is extremely well located for transport connections. It is close to Krakow’s railway station, the long distance bus terminal to use for a trip to Auschwitz, the terminus for the 304 bus that goes to Wieliczka salt mine, and a few tram lines eg for Nowa Huta. It is also next to a large shopping mall so there are plenty of ATMs, services, shops and eateries nearby. (Hint: if arriving by train access the hotel through the shopping mall. It’s shorter than using the streets and also undercover.) Ryneck Glowny, the historic main square, is a 15 minute walk away.

The hotel itself is new or recently refurbished – the rooms were well laid out and comfortable. There are free internet PCs near the lobby which have a data cleansing routine when logging on and off and appear to be secure. Overall the Ibis was excellent value for money. If you are on a tight budget there is an Ibis Budget hotel next door (don’t know what the accommodation is like there).

We stayed as part of our tour. It is joint beside the Ibis budget hotel. The room is small but neat and clean. Free wifi in room but no hot water (no kettle) in room. THere is a Galleria mall less than 3 mins away from hotel. Breakfast variety is reasonable. Would recommend for stay.
