“Great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2014

We had a great stay in the queen boutique hotel. My only complaint would be the walk to the major areas, it did get tedious after a few days
The breakfast was amazing! The room was surprisingly large too

This was a lovely hotel to stay in , location was perfect for seeing the old town and the Jewish Quater as it is right in the middle of the two. Breakfast was exceptional and staff very helpful. beds very comfy. If you fancy doing a walking tour wiht a private guide, please ask reception to arrange this, we had a wonderful guide for 3 hours who was so interesting and very reasonable. Also this hotel organised a driver and vehicle for us to visit the salt mines. Sadly didn't try the spa but it looked great and good value for money.

Queen Boutique is a great choice of hotel, only 5 minutes walk from the main square and a similar distance to the Jewish Quarter and Wawel Castle. It’s also within close proximity of some great eateries and places to go for a local beer.

The hotel itself is beautiful both inside and outside, with all the character and warmth you’d expect of a boutique residence – very much in keeping with this amazing city. Our bedroom was contemporary yet homely, very comfortable and relaxing after a day seeing the sites of Krakow. Breakfast and our complimentary snack were scrumptious, setting us up properly for the day. Drinks too weren’t bad when we got back!

All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful, including reception who helped us get our bearings, showed us some of the must-see’s and arranged our incredible (and relatively cheap) trips to Auschwitz and the Wieliczka Salt Mine – the former of which is an absolute must for the moving history of atrocities committed.

Considering its quality and central location, there can be very few places in Krakow to rival this hotel especially for the money.

The hotel is on a rather shabby street but there is nothing shabby about this place. It is well situated for some very good restaurants in the jewish area and also for the old town which is within walking distance.
The staff are excellent, gave the impression that nothing was too much trouble and dealt with any questions or issues immediately, when I say issues there was nothing major -safe wouldn't open and I needed a travel plug for the room.
Breakfast was lovely-a good choice-good quality produce and again the staff were excellent,we were leaving early for our flight and asked if would be possible to have some cold food left out as they often do in other hotels for late arrivals or early departures, they said to go to breakfast as normal as they would be setting up around the time we needed. We enjoyed the full service at breakfast.. including the offer of freshly cooked eggs and other hot food.
I would recommend this hotel without hesitation,it is in a good location, spotlessly clean and the staff are prepared to go that bit further to accommodate your needs.

Dear Guests,
Thank you very much for your review. I am really happy that you had nice time at Queen Boutique. The hotel is very nice situated, especially if you think of exploring the city and enjoying your free time in the heart of Krakow. When it comes to the restaurants the choice is huge indeed. I am not sure if you had opportunity to try our restaurant, if not, I have to ensure you that the food is spectacular and would like to encourage you to try it next time you will be here. Thank you for pricing our staff service, we always do our best to meet our Guests expectations. I am also glad that you could have full service breakfast earlier than usually on your last morning.
I hope that we will see you in the future.
Best regards,

Not our usual style choice - we prefer small and quirky - but very pleasantly surprised with the Queen Boutique.

The staff are incredibly polite and helpful, the whole place is spotless, and the rooms are quite large. We stayed in room 22 on the third floor. The room faces the main road, but we had absolutely no disturbance from outside noise at all.

Breakfasts are immense. A whole cold buffet of fabulous meats, cheeses, salads, breads, jams, pastries, fruits, pies, cakes, and fresh juices. Just after loading a table with food and tucking in, the waitress arrived with a hot food menu (scrambled eggs were wonderful) and more space in the stomach was filled. All washed down with copious amounts of fresh coffee on tap.

The location couldn't be better. Leave the hotel and take two lefts and a right, walk for about ten minutes along tree-lined streets and you are in the centre of the old town - the huge square there is fantastic in the evenings for street food and live music.

Leave the hotel and cross the road directly outside and within two minutes you are in the centre of Kazimierz - the gorgeous old Jewish district. Here we found so many amazing places to eat, bars and cafes that you could spend a whole weekend just sitting, eating and watching. In fact, we managed to spend at least half our stay doing just that.

We did get out and visit a lot of the places that are (in-) famous from WWII - the site of the Plaszow concentration camp is just a few stops on the number 13 tram, the Jewish Galicia museum is a short walk from the hotel, and we took a harrowing trip to Aushwitz-Birkenau with a company called Krakow Shuttle (we also used them for our very good value, and extremely friendly and efficient, airport transfers)

We also took a one hour riverboat trip down the Vistula - not the prettiest of rivers, but it was beautifuly sunny and a wonderful way to down a few cold drinks. Price was 20PLN each (about £4).

A few of important points about Krakow:

1. Prices - we struggled to spend money - the cost of food and drink is laughably low. A two course lunch with drinks came in at about 30PLN (£6) each. One evening we went to the amazing Sasiedzi restaurant on Miodowa where we had three huge courses, a couple of side dishes, bread, wine, vodka, and coffee - the bill for two was 165PLN (about £36). £18 a head and we agreed it was one of the best meals of our lives.

2. People - the Poles are unbelievably sweet. They seem to enjoy laughing, they offer wonderful service, they are incredibly helpful, and nobody seemed out to make a quick buck off you.

3. Hen/Stag nights - there are plenty of them going on, but if you avoid the couple of streets off the main square in the old town you will avoid too much contact. Head for the Jewish District and you are unlikely to bump into any at all.

4. Diet - you'll need one afterwards. Combine irresistable food, huge portions, low prices and, in our case, little self-restraint, and you have a recipe for rapid weight gain. Worth every extra ounce.

5. Krakow/Poland - prepare to fall in love. We came for three nights and were planning our next visit by day 2 and hoping to stay longer and spread our wings with a few nights or a week in the Tatra mountains.

We would highly recommend the hotel, the city, and the country.

We had a girls weekend spending 3 nights in this hotel, and by the first night we were talking about out next visit. We were impressed from the minute we arrived! We arrived very early and without any hesitation we were allowed us to check in. The staff are fantastic, helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean, comfortable and our room had a wonderful view. The evening meal was just fantastic and breakfast was beautiful. It is in a great location with lots of great places close by. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Very good hotel, in a great location it is within walking distance of the Old Square and the Jewish centre. Customer service was very professional and attentive however we had a room at the top of the hotel and we had four large roof windows which did not have blackout blinds so the room became very light very early in the morning which made sleep difficult and they would not move us? I would return to this hotel but would ensure I would not be allocated these top floor rooms.
Food was also to a high standard. We visited the hotel Spa which was also excellent and reasonably priced.
