“Wonderful evening”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

We went to Marmalada on a recommendation from our hotel (Pugetow). Couldn't have been more pleased. Food and service were excellent and we were entertained by a duo playing keyboard and violin - very romantic. I had the spareribs and rate this meal as one of my best during our tour of 5 countries in central/eastern Europe

“A bit expensive but great if you want to try the local cuisine.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

The spareribs won over the pigs knuckles. pierogis and dumplings we ordered. The mushroom soup in a bread bowl was also very tasty. Ambience was very nice and polish. A bit pricey but worth it.

“Best ribs in Krakow”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

We stopped by early on a Monday night (around 5:45), and just beat the rush of diners who filled up the restaurant quickly after that. We ended up over-ordering, but were very pleased with the quality of the food. The ribs with a sauce of plums and apricots were the best ribs we've had outside America (and perhaps even better than American ribs!). We also ordered a salad which was fresh and plentiful, and a mixed platter of pierogies, which was overly plentiful. This was accompanied by a bottle of nice Sicilian wine. Our son ordered breaded chicken and fries from the children's menu, and said it was the best he'd had.

Our waitress was friendly and available, and took good care of us. The atmosphere was warm and rustic. And the value of the food, given the quality, was excellent. Don't hesitate to go!

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch here. The service was attentive without being intrusive. We had the zander and the steak with pears and both were excellent.

“Not perfect, but pretty good.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

My wife and I ate here in October, and rather liked it. The decor is nice. The staff are friendly and efficient. There was live music from a pianist and cellist- they were rather good, and it didn't intrude on conversation. The food is quite good, but not amazing. We both had the duck with cherry sauce for our main- it was nice, but quite sweet. We also had boiled vedge, which was over-cooked (though cooking vedge like this seems common for Eastern Europe). We had pear "pancakes" (turned out to be fritters) for desert. One negative was that I wanted a coffee with desert, and it came long before it; I complained but they still charged me for it. One positive was that, although we asked for one desert to share, they still gave us two portions.
