“Outstanding experience, great guide, good value.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2014 via mobile

My daughter and I took tour from Krakow city centre at 0900. Bus left on time and we watched documentary in bus during 75min trip to Auschwitz 1. We were met by Eva our English guide who walked us through the camp and exhibits. She showed respect and sensitivity for the harrowing subject matter and audio was very good with headphones to clearly hear our guide. Temp was -2C and very cold in spite of winter gear. I cannot imagine what inmates had to experience in depth of winter. Tour then moved by bus to Auschwitz Birkenau for walk about larger camp. Tour was well organised with experienced coordinator and superb guide. It took most of the day and was a day well spent. Recommended.

“Great and Cheap!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2014

We visited auschwitz and birkenau as part of a tour group. It was 100 and we were picked up and dropped off took from 9am and dropped off about 3.30pm. The tour guide was amazing and you should book as part of a tour as its worth it. Thanks again!

“Good tour but awful bus experience”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2014

The tour itself (Auschwitz/Birkenau) was good. What prevents me from leaving a five-star rating is the behavior of the Cracow City Tour guide Grigoriy. On the way to Auschwitz, a girl became ill and threw up on the bus. Because there were no motion sickness bags available on the bus, some of the vomit ended on the seat. Grigoriy appeared annoyed by the inconvenience and told the girl she should have known she was going to throw up. He found a roll of paper towels and threw them to her, and she cleaned up the mess herself. While I understand the necessity of charging her a cleaning fee, I was surprised by Grigoriy’s angry reaction and lack of compassion. When we reached our destination, the girl was still shaking from her motion sickness. Several members of the tour group were upset by Grigoriy's behavior. I thought that would be the end of it. However, after we visited both concentration camp sites and returned to the bus, Grigoriy unexpectedly confronted the girl, refusing to let her on the bus unless she paid the cleaning fee immediately. The girl said that she had no money with her, but Grigoriy told her that he did not believe her. He said that he would not let her on the bus unless she paid the cleaning fee. She said that she was willing to pay the fee but did not have the money with her. This was an afternoon tour shortly after daylight savings, so by this time, it was completely dark outside. The girl was young and a foreigner, and she had no money with her. And Grigoriy was threatening to leave her all alone outside a concentration camp. To say that I was shocked is to put it mildly. And I was not the only member of the tour group who was shocked by Grigoriy's behavior. Several others on the bus said that they would not allow Grigoriy to leave the girl behind. In the end, after confronting the girl alone outside the bus for several minutes, Grigoriy allowed her to board the bus. On the way back to the city, Grigoriy complained to the bus driver about the girl in Polish, which I think was rude since he knew she did not understand Polish. I understand that it was inconvenient for Grigoriy having to deal with getting the bus seat cleaned and collecting a cleaning fee from the girl, but his behavior exacerbated the situation and was, quite frankly, inexcusable.

“Easy way to get to attractions”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2014

Used Cracow City Tours twice during our stay. Tickets were booked through our hotel and all we had to do was turn up. Coach pick up was at the coach park opposite the Sheraton Hotel so was easy. Our first trip was to Auschwitz and was a busy Monday. Our guide Jacek did a brilliant job throughout the day as he had to guide and interpreted. Be aware that bags that are too large are not allowed in the first camp so take a small shoulder bag only (or leave it on the coach) and photography is not allowed in three locations in first camp (Block 11 cells, hair collection in Block 4 and the Chamber).

Our second trip was the Salt mines. Drop off points are discussed with passengers as they will try to get you back close to your hotel at the end of the trips. The coaches were comfortable and the drivers very good. Would use them for another trip without hesitation.

“Great Tour of Auschwitz/Birkenau”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2014

We visited Krakow during September - our first in the region and Auschwitz/Birkenau was one of the first things we put on our todo list. I just think it is one of those things every person that has the chance to visit MUST do.

We booked our Wieliczka tour through the hostel we stayed at but I heard good things about Cracow City Tours and decided to book this one through them. The process of booking and payment was simple, I received confirmation emails before the actual visit and when we popped into their Office in Krakow the staff were helpful and friendly.

You get picked up by 'n bus and transported to the site in good comfort. Everyone speaks good English (very rare in our experience of Poland) and were friendly and helpful. I cannot remember our guide's name but she was a lovely lady, knowledgeable and passionate about the tour and the historical background thereof. One thing that stood out was the amount of respect she showed to all the exhibitions and you could see she didn't just run through this tour like a robot. She was very alert to anyone drifting off and kept count of our group througout. We got caught in one of the corridors with another group going the wrong direction and she handled the situaion amazingly. I pay attention to and appreciate those sort of things.

Tour itself was amazing and covers everything I expected and a bit more. Additionally we also got a free meal voucher as part of the deal which was great travelling on a budget. The meal itself was actually amazing so it wasn't just some random give away to tourist.

All in all - brilliant! Would recommend to anyone going to Krakow!
