“GREAT hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2011

We upgraded from a twin room to a deluxe double (Room 308) and it was well worth it. The room was large and well appointed - flat screen TV, mini bar, one of the best bathrooms/walk in showers you could imagine, and the comfiest bed of almost any hotel we've stayed in.
Also worth noting was the functionality of the double galzed windows that kept the room as close to silent as was possible, and terrific black-out curtains.

The hotel also has a restaurant, set in a delightful basement, which we, unfortunately, only used for breakfast (fantastic buffet, and also the availability of having food cooked to order - omelettes, crepes, smoothies etc - and mega friendly/efficient waitress staff).

The hotel itself is very boutique and modern in style and sits on the Royal Way (Florian Gate to Wawel Castle).
It is also no more than 150 metres to Krakow's Stare Misto, the main historic square - a real bonus.
The hotel is surrounded by plenty of restaurants and shops (and even a KFC) but don't let this put you off; if you want a real quality place to stay, somewhere central to the historic sites and where the staff are mega helpful and friendly, then this is for you.

On our next trip to Krakow (Yes, we'll be back) this is where we'll be staying.
A true deluxe experience.

Such a fantastic hotel,if you do krakow, you should do this! Its 2mins away from the main square and its so easy to find as its not far from the main train & bus station.
The room was amazing,so much space and beautiful! The staff were so friendly and breakfast was amazing!
Theres a buffet with loads to choose from and the you can order cooked breakfasts from a menu( and not the typical rubbish english breakfast!) .

I love being pleasanly surprised when booking hotels over the internet, you just never know what you getting yourself into! Hotel Unicus has a great location in the old town. Modern, fresh, even though I had a single room, very comfortable with all the modern ammenities. Staff super friedly and helpful. Breakfast very good with big selection.

Unicus is a city hotel just in the middle of Krakow's old city. 5 minutes walk from the St. Mary church.
You get real service, your luggage is brought to the room, the staff is good in English (if you don't speak Polish...) and very helpful. My room was spacey and nice - in a classical style.
Once you have enjoyed the location and slept well there is a very good breakfast with splendid fresh cooked hot food for those who like.
It's a bit difficult to find if you do not trust your sat-nav entirely. So I got lost when the amount of pedestrians made me doubt whether I should follow the instructions. Luckily there was no police around. You can park for half an hour in front of the hotel - after you understood the system.
The internet is free and fast.
So whenever I have a chance to go back to Krakow - I know where to stay.

Room Tip: Just drive to the front door and unload

This hotel is superb- cannot recommend highly enough- the location is perfect to explore this wonderful city- within minutes of the Main Square and its shops, cafes and restaurants. We stayed in a double deluxe room for a long weekend- and went on free walking tours of the City, as well as visiting Auchwitz and Birkenhau (which are 1-1.5 hours drive away).

The hotel is old, but has recently been modernised to a very high standard - our room was perfect- the staff were friendly and helpful- the range of food available for breakfast in the cellar restaurant (which was also open in the evenings) was amazing.

This is a real gem of a hotel. Great location, great rooms and breakfast was very good. We didn't eat in the restaurant so I can't comment on that. I will be returning to Unicus when next in Krakow and can't wait.
