“Very lovely hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2010

We stayed at the Hotel Kossak last week, and have got to say am quite impressed with this hotel. It was a beautiful place with lovely friendly staff. Food was great (although my friend would disagree, especially if you ask about Eggs benedict or Croque Monsieur). The hotel overlooked the castle, and it was very pretty with all the lights on.
Staff were extremely friendly and always helpful, am so glad we picked this over the sheraton.
Not far from the square where everything goes on, approx 10mins and thats an unfit walk. (5mins if your fit)
The city seems to be very uncared for however, and I would definitely say needs a makeover in places.
What is absolutely worth seeing, is the salt mine, the worlds biggest underground cathedral, (although technically its not officially a cathedral) it is stunning and so clever how these mines were worked.
Go to Krakow (or Cracow) but you may only want to go the once.

Hotel Kossak is definitely in the top of my hotel recommendations across Europe. If there would be one in every european city if would get a frequent visitor card.

The breakfast, with freshly made to order pancakes and omelets is simply wonderfull, the staff is helpfull en the view of the wawel hill is priceless.

Situated near a tramstop makes it easy to get around town, although most of it can be done on foot, like the Old Town, Kazimierz and off course Wawel.

In short, great hotel to stay if you need some luxury for a great price.

This hotel is no more than an easy 10 minute stroll to the centreof the old town. It is situated right opposite the beautiful castle, of which you can take photos from the Hotel roof cafe (day and night ). There was a very good choice at the buffet breakfasts which were included in our room price (www.booking .com ) . Hotel service was very friendly , and the rooms were clean, modern and had everything we needed .

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Kossak from 28th October-31st October 2010. We came to Krakow to visit Auschwitz and the staff and Kossak made our stay lovely and memorable. The hotel is clean and in an excellent location only 10mins away from the market square. There are some lovely other hotels surrounding like the Radisson, Sheraton and Novotel and we visited these hotels for some nice meals also. The staff at Kossak are warm and friendly and will always try and help as much as they can and their English is fantastic. The only downside was that the rooms are quite small and if you are sharing with someone it is hard to find space for your luggage and then for getting ready at the same time. Other than that, definitely recommend it. Had a great stay. Book through Escape2Poland as they are excellent.

Spent 3 days at this excellent hotel in a lovely room facing the river and Wawel Castle. The staff from reception, porters, breakfast and restaurant were very friendly and efficient.Food at breakfast and evening was first class and prices including drinks were extremely reasonable.
The hotel is very well located to carry out sightseeing in Krakow on foot.It is also close to bus stops to enable you to do the Salt Mines trip in your own time and at half the price of tour operators. However it is easier to do the Auschwitz/Birkenau trip through Cracow Tours with pick-up 5 minutes away outside the Sheraton Hotel.Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel or staying again in the future.

We arrived just on dark, with a wonderful view from our window to the flood lit fortress on the hill. The reception staff were very welcoming as was the porter who reluctantly took our tip. Breakfast was excellent. The Restaurant has a wonderful view, but we enjoyed experiencing the wonderful restaurants that Krakow had to offer. Thew rooms were clean and the bathroom was luxurious. Would love to return.

We arrived at 6.30am from the overnight train. We only expected to leave our bags and head out but the girl at reception suggested we go in to breakfast and when we came out our room was available. Excellent! Nice hotel, beds extremely comfy. Nice breakfasts. Restaurant on top floor very nice with fab views. Hotel only a few minutes walk from main attractions. Would definately use again.
