“IDEAL LOCATION NEAR CITY CENTRE”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

When I entered the tutti frutti hostel I was dissappointed as I had booked a hotel not a hostel and this place was full of school children However I was pleasantly surprised as the appartment were across the road in another builing. There was a gated area a secure front door and secure door to the appartment which was very large and comfortable the bed and bathroom was clean although the kitchen cupboards could have done with a dusting. Breakfast was served in the Hostel across the road a self seervice buffet consisting of cereal, ham tomatoes egg sheese ate toast and marmalade the shops were right outside the door and the location was perfect. Highly recommended for clean cheap accomodfagtion,

Room Tip: Don't book into the hostel pay a little more and go to the hotel/appartments which are excellent...

The moment we arrived we were given an apartment which wasn't really safe - the sockets were damaged and there connecting wires were visible. Bed sheets were dirty and broken beds. The furniture was damaged as well. We were given another suite for the first night night until another apartment was available. The bed sheets were again dirty, with blood stains visible on them and on the duvets. My friends and I went to buy a sleeping mat each to sleep on them. Our first night was terrible. Than we were given another apartment for the remaining days of our holiday. There were damaged sockets as well and even a broken sink in the bathroom. A broken chair, and no proper windows (just a very small window which was covered by a dehumidifier...). We even had to use the same towel after showering for the whole week.

The only positive thing that I can say about this hostel is the area that it is situated in. It's situated just a few metres away from Krakow square, train station, and shopping complex.

Surely I don't recommend this hostel to anyone who wants to visit Krakow.

Very well located with just a few metres away from the city centre , but apart from that I do not have anything else nice to say. The room conditions where poor to say the least , damaged furniture and plugs , rusty cutlery, dirty sheets on the beds and the list goes on. The pictures that I found on the web really dont match the reality.

Spent 2 nights with two friends (all not so young ladies) in Retro II apartment. Large airy rooms at back. Very quiet and comfortable. Fully equipped and very clean with comfortable beds. Lovely plentiful breakfast in the morning. The location is perfect only a few steps fromSquare in one direction or the Station and shopping centre in the other direction on a pedestrianised street. Only small draw backis that a taxi cannot pull up right outside and the entrance from the street is a bit ugly and the rooms are up stairs. Worth it though for the location and value.

I stayed in apartments across the street. You can get 4 beds for 60 EUR which is great deal. Kitchen and rooms are average but I cannot imagine better location. It is in the middle of Florianska street 50 meters from Kosciol Mariacki - You cannot access Poland deeper than that. Within half mile circle you can enjoy around 500 bars. Enjoy.

Hostel is located on one of the main pedestrian streets to the Old Town Square, so within 1 min out of the hostel you can walk and be in the square. Staff were really friendly and helpful, with loads of advice on trips to Auschwitz. Room was good with lockers and comfy bunks. Could be improved with more than one bathroom on the top floor (sharing it with 3 large dorm rooms was not great). And it would have been nice to have been shown were the kitchen & common room was, as breakfast IS included, but we had no idea where it was. Great value for money, and was pretty cheap for brilliant location!

Hadn't booked a hostel and so decided to walk to St Florian's Gate and then to the Market Square to see if there was any hostels around there. There were quite a few buildings labeled hostels but Tutti Frutti was my preferred one as it looked nicer and appearance and first impressions are important to go by! Once inside the staff were very friendly indeed, gave great advice of what to do in the city and of day trips to Auschwitz (which is a must do) and showed me round the hostel. Wifi was good, common room was spacious and friendly and the hostel location was fantastic as it was right by the market square, st florian's gate and a 10 minute walk to the station. I would say that there needs to be another bathroom as one floor shared just one and i'm guessing that my floor had 3 other rooms just like mine so there may have been 32 people sharing one bathroom... Just a guess and that number is definitely the max! As well, my top bunk was incredibly creaky. When getting into bed, I couldn't even hear my brother laughing in the bed below as the creaking was that loud. For the amount I paid, the hostel was very much worth the money and would happily recommend other travelers to stay there.
