“Great location and friendly staff for a clean hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2009

We had a great staying in the Jewish district of Kazimierz, a good position to explore Krakow.
We had a triple room ensuite in a kind of flat, so we got the keys for the main door, for the apartment door and for our room.
The room was clean and comfortable, the small bathroom had a wc, a toilet and a sink.
Staff people were really friendly. We wrote them different times before leaving for Poland asking for additional informations. They were exhaustive and gentle.
We had a late check in and they waited for us.
Every day we met different staff people and they were all neighbourly.
Breakfast was served in a bag and we had it in our room.
We used their wi fi service for free and they gave us some informations about Polish railways.
They booked us a private cab for the airport when we left the hotel; we lost a mobile phone in the car but the taxi driver brought the phone to the hotel and Tournet staff sent it to us with no additional fee. They were kind to the last!
Reccomended if you want a great stay in a quiet place. Big deal!

Located in the old Jewish quarter there are plenty of places to eat and drink around this hotel that don't cater for the typical stag and hen crowd. Easy to get to from the airport this hotel has nice rooms, each themed by colour and all with en-euite. Breakfast is collected from reception and you can eat in your room which is a nice touch.

We went to visit Jewish Krakow and this hotel was in the heart of the Jewish historical Quarter.

The staff was very accomodating. Their English was weak but they made up for language skills with a genuine desire to be helpful. The person who was generally at the front desk was always willing to struggle through the language barrier to give us directions to get us where we wanted to go.

We had a room with a bath and were quite satisfied. The room was small by US standards but we had plenty of room to move around.

The hotel shares the building with a restaurant. So, the aromas as we went to our rooms was bit overpowering. However, the aroma was good food being cooked and confined to the hallway. So, I guess I chalk that up to local color.

We were close to trams that got us everywhere we wanted to go. However, I must admit the public transportation in Krakow is a bit daunting to understand.

The breakfast was served to us in a bag and we had to eat it in our room, The room had a table, chairs and utensils. They cleaned the room daily. So, breakfast in the room was tolerable.

The price was well within our budget and we had a pretty tight budget.

We thourougly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We have stayed at higher end hotels that were not as nice and not nearly as friendly. Additionally, they allow you to use their internet at no cost and even borrow their computer if you do not have your own. They let you use the phone as well, to call outside of the country, and even if you offer to pay for the use, they won't take it. Whereas other hotels try to charge you for every little thing, this hotel makes you feel at home.

I'm writing this review at 2:30am on a Thursday morning. I'm sitting in my room in the Tournet, using the decent wireless internet service provided!

I've just been woken up by a couple of people in the next room who've obviously got back after a night in the town. They're not that rowdy, nor are they speaking particularly loudly but the walls are paper thin. Worse than that is the layout of this hotel. There is a lockable door on each floor (for which a key is provided) that leads into an ante-chamber/hallway, off which the rooms lie. Unfortunately the hallway floor is tiled and the ceilings are pretty high so when a key goes in a lock or a door is closed or someone speaks at normal volume, the echo effect is like that of a Victorian hopital or prison. I'm not a light sleeper but I defy anyone to sleep through the process of someone returning to the next room in this hotel.

Otherwise I really like this place. It has a nice feel to it and a rustic charm. The staff are very friendly and particularly helpful. The place is clean and located in a little backwater of the Jewish sector within easy reach of trams or a short walk to the centre. The beds are basic but comfortable. Tea/coffee making facilities and the free wireless connection are a credit to this place. Someone on another website made reference to the smell of air-freshner in the room. It's true that it's a little overpowering but you get used to it.

Overall, a great place to stay if you're prepared to live with the possibility of being woken up in the middle of the night!

Sweet room for less than $100. Friendly receptionist who spoke good English, answered our questions, and even called several places to find us a room when we tried to check in a day early and Tournet was full. Good breakfast in a bag that you pick up at the desk.
