On approach to the hotel I couldn't help but notice the surrounding area wasn't the most aesthetically pleasing. The hotel is set in an area that has buildings - some derelict - covered in graffiti. It's not somewhere I would like to walk about on a night.
The staff were very friendly apart from one barmaid who was very rude to my 91 year old (at the time) grandad as he was trying to decide on what to have for lunch - she didn't have any patience at all. But generally the staff were helpful and they have someone downstairs on a night at the bar if you fancied a beer. I recommend Tyskie - it cost me 90p a bottle at the time and was beautiful.
My room was great, very spacious twin but they put my mom and aunty a tiny twin room that when you stood in the middIe I could touch both walls !! It made no sense but maybe it was an oversight - the rooms were clean and the hotel was quiet
The food was nice but the selection was very limited.
Overall it was a nice budget hotel
