Stayed for a week while visiting Auschwitz Birkenau Concentration Camp, Excellent restaurant with outside court yard, great to sit there and have a meal and drinks in the evening, very reasonable prices. Had room in old part of Hotel very comfy bed, room good, very clean and quiet, slept very well Breakfast excellent. Staff wonderfully helpful. Secure car parking.
Cracow is close by on Autobahn, longer by country road, but more interesting. Cracow is fantastic a must see, wonderful old buildings, the Castle etc of the Kings. The giant square in center of city, with excellent restaurants, and the old Jewish quarter with the synagogues and restaurants. I regularly visit this area and will be there again this August. Also do not forget to visit the Schindler Museum in Cracow. Auschwitz Birkenau is heart breaking, to see what so called human beings did to other people is terrible. When you visit Crematorium Nr. 5 and see where the women and children had to wait under wonderful trees while they could see and hear how the group before them were gassed and then heaped up outside were they burnt the bodies, before being beaten and forced to go into these same showers to be murdered. You will never be the same after seeing this.

Out of town (15 min walk) to the centre. Main square currently under renovation. Hotel itself really great. Staff very helpful. Traditional Polish menu is tasty and substantial. Breakfast lots of choice and again very tasty.
Our room suited our needs brilliantly, but the twin room was a bit dark. Secure garaged parking for our motorbikes was much appreciated. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here in January for just one night while visiting the camps. The hotel was a relatively short cab ride from the Oswiecim train station, and after arriving late in the evening, we were able to get a swift check in to a room a short walk around the corner. The best part was then walking down to the attached restaurant for some drinks and desert. The restaurant was extremely affordable and had great service. Of course, the desert was really good too, so that made it much easier to go to sleep. The nights before and after this we stayed at Marriott hotels in the centers of cities with more than 2 million people, so staying in a town of this size (40K people) was different from our norm. The hotel was very pleasant and I would love to return, especially because of the value.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

I stayed here 4 nights with a friend, who also had their own room in the hotel. I had a superior room in the old wing of the hotel, it was clean, tidy and despite facing a main road into the town was silent at night. The electric wood blind outside the window also shuts out all the light, so a good nights sleep.

Breakfast was included and had a good selection of hot and cold items, the coffee was excellent. We ate in the evenings in the Italian. There is also a large court yard area to sit outside in with table service, it was peaceful and pleasant. The food was excellent, especially the pizza, salads and fantastic desserts. There were 3 draft beers on, all a little over £1 for a large glass and whatever you ate or drunk was excellent value compared to UK prices.

I used the spa twice for massage treatment, again excellent value and a nice relaxing setting, there was a small outdoor area too with sun loungers.

The staff were very helpful throughout and spoke perfect English in reception, they organised taxis and also gave useful advice on visiting the town and Auschwitz Museum.

For those visiting Auschwitz museum, it can be reached by walking, but it takes about 50 minutes and it is not a country lane, but partly through housing blocks, part of the town and then through and along a busy trunk road. Better to get a taxi, which was only £4 one way. Visiting both camps took us a day.

The hotel is on the edge of town, next to a housing estate, being blocks of apartments, there is little to see around the nearby area, but the town offers a couple of museums and churches to visit. There are a couple of nearby places to eat, but I would stick with the hotel as it is so good.

A day trip to Krakow was undertaken, the railway station is closer than the camps, £3 by taxi, it really is something out of the 1960s, it took nearly 2hrs (the train bumps along at 20-25mph) to reach Krakow from Oswiecim but was an experience and an interesting journey.

The hotel has an old wing and a new one. We were given a room in the old wing. The room was very bare bones and not too nice. We requested to be moved to the new wing. The front desk clerk who initially was a little gruff warmed up and arranged for the change. The new room had a much nicer bathroom and a much better view. Upon checking in, ask for the new wing.

There are two restaurants at the hotel which is about a mile from town. The Italian one was just okay. The Polish restaurant was very good and the waiter was very nice and helped decipher the menu. Breakfast was pretty standard fare.

Like most people to Oswiecim, we spent a day at the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp and chose this hotel to stay the night before driving on to the Czech Republic.
What a hotel! It would have to be one of the best we stayed at in eastern Europe.
Very new, modern, beautifully appointed, very well priced.Fast wi-fi.Two large rooms and so quiet. My wife took advantage of the "wellness" aspect in having a massage at 9pm - now that's service!
For reasons we still don't know, a full evening meal for two was also included -almost as good as an upgrade. The Polish restaurant (as different to adjacent Italian restaurant) was cosy, full of ambience and served outstanding food. Breakfast was as one expects in eastern Europe - too much to chose from.
There is a small supermarket nearby to buy drinks and nibblies but otherwise the hotel is located on the outskirts of the town, surrounded by high-rise drab apartment blocks. If you're there for only one or two nights that's no problem.
Excellent English spoken by all the friendly staff.
