“Poor customer skills at reception”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013 via mobile

The receptionist gave me the key to the room which wasn't prepared it was dirty not cleaned and smelled of cigarettes badly. When I came back to the lobby I explained the situation she started to blame the fault of the housekeeper and started to tell her off in front of me then the blond receptionist said that she is not able to give me a room now as she doesn't have any!!!!! And I need to wait! Excuse me? The room was book for 2 weeks ahead. I felt embarrassed as she said that in front of two other people. I asked for a different room. After view minutes she went to check herself then she finally gave me a key. Didn't say sorry or nth. That is bad. The food was good and the 2 girls there were very pleasant and very professional. I am a smoker and I'm happy that u are able to smoke in the room but when I come in at least u should put an air refresher to kill the smell u know what I mean? I'm gonna be here in view days lets c how its gonna b.

Not a bad hotel, free wifi, goods views, clean and modern finish. Poor gym but did have a sauna that was always empty. Terrible pillows though, and shower kept changing temperature a lot. Otherwise I'd recommend.

Great location for the maritime freak - just on the Odra river bank called Waly Chrobrego where most of the tall ships are mooring. Easy public parking outside of the hotel.

Single rooms are a little claustrophobic. The size is OK, but the strange shape and arrangement of the room make them uncomfortable. The narrow bed is squeezed in-between the walls like in the U-boot. Still, the mattress is good and if you don't mind the proximity of walls the sleep is fine.

Clean and wroking bathroom. I had no problems with hot water (as mentioned by the other reviewers).

Wi-Fi working, but slow. Probably because it's based on some low cost equipment.

Breakfast is acceptable as of the food selection and the staff in the dining room is very fast and helpful. There is not enough space there and you have to share the tables with the strangers.
One very good breakfast idea - there are ready made sandwiches "to go" along with coffee cups which you can fill up to your demand and take away.

Bottom line - does the job if you don't mind the size and comfort of the room.
Really good price of the overnight (50 euro range).

Room Tip: Single rooms are very small. Beware the maritime events on Waly Chrobrego can generate a lot of nois...

Because the Park Hotel lacks hot water after 11PM, I decided to take my chances on another location about 500 yards further, beautifully located at the riverside; hotel Focus.

Focus has a modern reception, fine elevators, then you reach your room and the first setbacks immediately show up: the hotel offers business class rooms which lack airconditioning and a minibar, even a safe. Although the rooms are spacious and nicely decorated, these 3 things belong to a businessroom just as noodles belong to Poland.

The beds were super comfy, though I'm a real criticic when it comes to sleep comfortness, the beds in our rooms were just perfect. The bathroom was fine, apart from the fact that hot water took about 10 minutes to come through. Just leave the tap opened and have a little patience.
The order for roomservice wasn't received well so I had to call twice and wait for an hour but staff knocked on the door with a super large breakfast to say sorry for waiting.

The plates from roomservice you leave in the hall outside your room aren't noted by anyone of the staff and stay there for at least 2 days.

Free wifi worked without failure.

Breakfast downstairs is a little poor for this level, more fresh food would be nice instead of the instant bakery cakes and stuff, breakfast staff is very grumpy, lead by the grumpiest of them all, the older-lady-in-charge.

All in all, this hotel has tremendous opportunities to grow! Put airconditioning in the rooms, a safe and a minibar in every (business) room, teach breakfast staff hospitality manners and you have a hotel that is able to meet today's standards. If I could, I would give 3,5 stars.

Room Tip: Take a business room, you won't regret it, because of the enormous space it offers.

I was in this hotel in april 2012 during my business trip. My room was big, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was small, but clean. The service was also ok.
Generally it's a good hotel in a good location
