“perfect location and great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

Beginning from the service to the actual hotel room to the location, everything was perfect. The rooms were big and had delicious coffee in it (usually I don't even notice but this was delicious coffee!). At reception they were very helpful and spoke English perfectly.

The hotel was booked through work, so I didn't really have any expectations. But I was pleasantly surprised when I got there - top location and new beautiful spacious rooms, nice, helpful personnel, really good breakfast and the best coq au vin ever from the lobby bar. Would come back.

Just back from 3 nights stay at the Radisson Blu and really enjoyed our stay there. Stayed in a standard room which was really lovely, nice size with beautiful bathroom.Booked in on bed and breakfast with travel republic which worked out alot cheaper than alot of the other travel companies. Breakfast was excellent buffet style. We eat in restaurant one night and used a 30% discount voucher we had received on check in. Food was top class and staff could not have been more efficient and friendly.Restaurant looks out on the main Gdansk street/square. Location of this hotel could not be better. I would highly recommend it to any one visiting the city, but you need to price with the different companies as the difference in price is incredible.

I have booked a business class room and this was a perfect choice. The room was larger that my appartment (ca 40 square meters), located at the highest floor of historical building in the Old Town of Gdansk. Therefore, I have had a beautiful view, and extra balcony on a roof. The breakfests were perfect. Staff really friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Remember that you can order extra waffers, omlettes or pancakes for breakfest.

Dear Guests,

I would like to thank you for taking the time to complete a survey regarding your recent stay with us.

Thank you for noticing the large size of our Business Class rooms as well as the spectacular view from the only two rooms located on the 5th floor.

I hope the weather was good enough to stay on the terrace for some time. Nevertheless I encourage you to come over during the summer time and enjoy the sun baths just in the middle of the old town.

Sincerely,

I stayed in the Radisson blu hotel for one week in an executice room, it was very good, plenty of space and spotless, from checking in and checking out the experience was perfect, very friendly and helpfull staff, the only thing that I was bothered about was the price of drinks it was over twice the price of surrounding establishments, other than that it was fine the food was spot on,
location could not be better,

Room Tip: If you need a taxi ask at reception, we were totaly ripped of by an airport taxi driver, however the...

We stayed at the Radisson Blu in March 2013 at the excellent rate of about £70 per night. Excellent location in the Old Town and a really beautiful hotel. We were able to check in early. Issue with our room being already occupied but we were given free coffees until it was quickly sorted. The only slight issues were (a) rooms much smaller than average for a 5 star hotel (b) no dressing gowns available (c) couldnt access BBC world on the TV. However, fabulous bathroom, well maintained hotel and really pleasant and helpful staff. Also, on our last day in Gdansk we were allowed to keep the room till 7.30pm WITHOUT CHARGE!!! Well impressed and grateful as it snowed all day.

Our visit to Gdansk was a pleasant one though Gdansk itself is really small and is easily walkable and only about 30 mins on the service bus from the airport to Gdansk railway station. Beautiful buildings in the old town, and a lovely pedestrian area by the river. Take a walk to the Gdansk shipyards. Places to eat - Tekstylia was excellent - I would happily have gone there for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Fabulous set breakfast - x2 eggs, lots of bacon, ham, cheese and x2 rolls, large glass of orange juice and wonderful cappuccino all for about £4! We went for evening drinks - about £2 for a lovely glass of Chilean red wine. Also big selection of wonderful coffees/hot chocolates with whipped cream. Also try Sempre Pizza e Vino for wonderful pizza and Tiramasu - really excellent food in a beautiful restaurant right on the front. Make sure you grab a free copy of "Gdansk in Your Pocket" - which will tell you everything you need to know about the area.
Places to visit outside the centre of town - take the train from Gdansk to Gdynia (about 40 mins on a grotty v old fashioned train!) - lovely harbour/marina/beach area. Try Jack Daniels Whisky cake at Dom Czekolady coffee shop - amazing. On the same train line is Sopot which is worth a visit for a walk along the pier. Also visit Galeria Baltycka by tram which is a really good 3 story shopping mall on the outskirts of town with a large Carrefour in the basement. Train and tram travel is dirt cheap in Gdansk, as is eating out.
All in all, we more than managed to fill our 4 days in Gdansk - really enjoyed it.

Definitely one of better hotels in Gdansk, located in the centre, with all advantages of a 5* Radisson - impeccably clean, with impressive, but friendly design, quiet rooms, comfortable beds, etc. I would rate it as 'excellent', but I faced for two issues: in the hotel bar nobody seemed interested if I wanted to order and nobody approached my table (I was well visible). After 15 minutes I decided to go to the bar and order a salad and a glass of wine there... I was informed that I should wait till a waiter comes to my table (!). Secondly, if you get a suite, there is no way you can dry your hair in front of a mirror! You cannot use the hairdryer in the bathroom (officialy, for you own safety) and the power outlets and mirrors in the other parts of the room are located in different places.
