“A value-for-money B&B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2013

Located in the northern suburbs of Gdansk and closer to Sopot than to Gdansk centre, B&B Willa Albatros offers 14 rooms. Staffs are helpful and correct. Willa Albatros is a modest guesthouse, quiet and well maintained. An OK place for a relaxing stay.

We had a simple room with small separate TV lounge at the first floor of the guesthouse. Our room had a separate windowless private bathroom with washbasin, toilet and shower cubicle. Furnished and decorated in a seventies style, our room had a reasonable double-bed, a small table & chairs and a wardrobe. All was clean. Windows can be opened. In the basement room a complete Polish breakfast is served. Free parking in the street in front of the property. Complimentary Wi-Fi Internet and mineral water in the room.

We would recommend this B&B accommodation to anyone who seeks a quiet night's sleep at a reasonable price.

Me and my wife loved this place. Booked it on the back of other reviews and was not disappointed! From the hotel arranging our shuttle taxi - 70zloty from the airport, bargain, ps it has wifi too!! Our room was fantastic, the bathroom luxurious and spacious. We also had a living room and kitchen. This is ideal if self catering. The breakfast, well we had this 4 mornings and each warm dish each day was different from the last. the cold buffet was superb and again diferent dishes were served. no need for lunch. The beach wich stretches towards Gdansk and Sopot is a 20-25 min walk . Wat a fantastic beach. we walked to Sopot no problem along the beach. after a lovely meal in Petit Paris in sopot we walked the well lit cycle/walk path which took us an hour from the restaurant to the Villa - brill. The train and tram stations are easily walkable we did both train faster, as less stops, but mind the gap!! Trams great too. We also walked to Oliwa cathederal and gardens, so ideally placed. We also got a train to Gydinia, which as a city is ok, lovely beach and waterfront/harbour but not a lot else. Gdansk its self we did over two days - is stunning. Boat trip to Westerplatte is great. also make sure you go to the Post Office museum, if you like your second world war history. All in all a fantastic Villa in a fantastic position

My friend and I stayed at Willa Albatros during our trip to Gdansk after reading the good reviews, and we were definitely not disappointed. We wandered around for a while from the train station and ended up taking a taxi when we didn't easily find it (we'd written out quick google maps directions, but a lot of streets did not have signs). The various people we saw at the front desk were all lovely and very helpful. They also keep cookies in the reception area, which were much appreciated. Our room was very nicely and tastefully decorated - not the usual bland generic hotel room, more like the guest room in a crafty friend's house. The bed was very comfortable.

The only negative thing was the bathroom set up. There was a tub with a handheld shower, but no shower door or curtain - so you inevitably end up soaking the whole bathroom every time you shower.

Other than that, everything was perfect. We really liked the location once we learned our way around a little bit. It is maybe 20 minutes into the Gdansk city center, but almost walking distance or just a couple of train stops to the beach and Sopot in the other direction, which made for a nice relaxing morning one day.

As the other reviewers have mentioned, the breakfast is huge and fantastic. I think i am ruined for other hotel breakfasts. They have a little table set up with a couple types of pastries - different ones each day - juice, yoghurt, granola, and fresh fruit. Then they bring out coffee or tea, and a different hot breakfast each day, plus a selection of bread, meat, vegetables, and cheese. I like to eat a lot in the mornings, and I was always way overfilled. A "big breakfast" often means a really heavy, unbalanced meal, and that wasn't the case at Willa Albatross - there was a lot of variety and plenty of fresh, healthy, filling food.

I stayed here in Febuary with my boyfriend. The staff were lovely and so welcoming from the start, speaking excellent english. We got our room last minute and paid £63 in total for a double room for 3 nights including breakfast. The breakfast was HUGE, the cook just kept on bringing out more dishes!
The hotel is a 10/15 minute walk from the beach, although we spent well over an hour looking for restaurants which were around the beach but any we found were shut or not where we thought they were!
The negative points for the hotel were; our room was tiny, we asked for a double bed but got twins, there was only room for 1 person in the bathroom and our curtains were completely see through! We ended up hanging our towels up on the windows to block out the light.
Anything we wanted to know or advice on places to see and how to get there the staff were more than happy to help.

We spent a weekend in this place with my family. Nice, clean, and wide rooms, helpful staff and believe me - exhaustive breakfast with a lot of delicious food. All you need to spend a great time. The only con (?) is that it is located relatively far from Gdansk centre, however bus stop is near and the railway station is 10 min by foot. Don't forget to visit Oliva park and cathedral!

Stayed at this hotel for the weekend during a trip to Gdansk.
The hotel is located between the center of the city of Gdansk and Sopot (seaside resort). In a quiet area of Gdansk-Oliwa.
To stop SKM Gdansk-Oliwa 5 minutes walk, from 10 minutes and you're on the shore of the Baltic Sea in Sopot, or 15 minutes in the other direction and you're in the historic center of Gdansk.
Rooms at the hotel was not big but comfortable, very friendly staff.
In spite of the check-in 14.00 I may dwell in the room at 13:00 without any problems.
The hotel can beget the animals that for some will be a big plus.
Free Wi-Fi Internet.
In general, a good hotel for its level.
