We booked for dinner on 24 August and on arrival were shown to a table on the lovely outside terrace which overlooks the local park. Wonderful. Menus arrived, but we had to ask for the wine list. No problem. First course was tuna sashimi (nice fresh tuna, authentic) and beef carpaccio ( again, very presentable). But the food arrived before the wine and we had to wait until that turned up. Main courses were nicely cooked steak, but which could have done with a bit more jus, and pork medallions. Then it all started to unravel. After 15 minutes we asked for the dessert menus and then ordered cheese, pointing out the one on the menu. The bill promptly arrived. Communication error solved, 20 minutes later, the wrong cheese arrived. Another 20 minutes later, we were fed up waiting and asked for the bill. Then the correct cheese arrived. We paid and left, feeling disappointed by the service.
Overall, the food and atmosphere was very good, and it is a tremendous setting for dinner. But we saw only 2 waiters in the 2.5 hours we were there and felt sorry for them - they were simply understaffed on the night.
