“Locality inscripted in the list of the World Cultural Heritage”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2014

This lowland in the South of Moravia (Czech republic) is a unique example of sensitive incorporation of architecture into landscape. Thanks to Lichtenstein family (they still possessing Lichtenstein state) has survived here a complex of architecture (castles, pavillons, sculptures, parks, forests and lakes inwrougt by many sidewalks suitable for cyclists. The architecture is mostly eclectic utilising domestic limestone of pleasant colour. Moreover this region is a famouse by a production of wines, especially white ones, but rose is excellent as well.I fully reccommend to visit this area.

“Zamek/Chateau Lednice in South Moravia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2014

Chateau Lednice is located in the southeast Moravia. It is beautiful and well-kept chateau that offers activities for the entire day. The entrance to the chateau offers 4 different paths, greenhouse, Minaret (tower) or Janohrad (ruin). The fees are various, but usually between $2.5 and $5 unless you ask for translator. You can certainly walk throughout the gardens which is free. Some of the activities in the gardens are horse riding or you can take a boat within the gardens. I usually walk all the way from the castle to Minaret enjoying the nature and then I take a boat back to the castle.

There are few kiosks with food, ice cream, etc. I would recommend to bring your own water. Because the castle is pretty much right in the middle of the town there are many restaurants and deli stores within walking distance.

If you use public transportation you can take a bus from Breclav (near train station) to Lednice, otherwise it is about 15 minute by car from Breclav. Tickets are about $1 and they run quite often.

Make sure you have cash as many places don’t take credit cards, especially small food and souvenir kiosks in many tourist areas such as this one.

Lednice is also known as a spa town and right around in the vicinity there are many more other attractions you can see – castles in Valtice, Mikulov, Milotice, folk festivals almost every weekend during the summer in many villages around Brecalv and Hodonin, and also many villages have wine cellars which are sometimes open for public to come, see and taste.

“The Feel Of France”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2014

After exploring the ruins of so many castles, it is refreshing to see a beautiful , intact one. Over the centuries the region surrounding Lednice has been carefully landscaped with a series of woodlands, lakes, streams, gardens, and a tree lined chateau, all of which have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Castle was built in the Neo-Gothic style. The property has a greenhouse, ponds, and a 200 foot high minaret.

“Must see attraction in South Moravia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2014

This is a place where you can both relax, enjoy the beauty of nature, architecture and other staff. I went there together with my friends while my stay in Czech Republic. It's not far from Brno(2nd biggest city in CZ) around 2 hours drive. but the problem is that if you want to go by train it'll take rather long. You'll need to take a train to Breclav. The from Breclav bus station (autobudovy nadrazi) to Lednice bus station. The place do worths visiting.
The ticket to the entrance of the museum is not that expensive. And there is also a ticket for the tower. 10 or 20 CZK, where you can see the whole area from.
Also there are some shows, like eagle show, which we came across. Though I was afraid:) , but it was a good one
