5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2014

A architecture juwel that you can enjoy drinking a coffee or eating some food. The caffe is not a cheap one but for fans of this style of course a must to visit.

“Lovely cafe near Villa Tugendhat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

Lovely little cafe, worth visiting if you go to Villa Tugendhat as the style of architecture is similiar. We sat in the lovely garden, but it was nice inside also. Staff were very professional and friendly

“One of the most important cafes around restored to its historic beauty”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

A side note: The food is excellent! We've had a duck with dumplings, but the chalk-on-whiteboard menu offers quite some variety, and changes frequently, not least due to the fact they seem to have fresh ingredients for a couple of portions of each dish per day.

“Great little hidden spot in historic neighborhood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2014

Kavarna Era is one of my favorite restaurants in Brno (where I lived for one year). It's located outside of the city center, which means you actually get to visit a real Czech residential neighborhood (and one of the nicest in Brno). The building itself has an interesting inter-war history that is worth looking into for architectural enthusiasts who are most likely in the Černá Pole neighborhood to see Villa Tugendhat. They change their menu daily and it is written on a chalkboard which can be confusing if you don't read Czech. The wait staff is sometimes able to translate, but not always. The food is very good - it's a nice blend of local Czech cuisine with influences from elsewhere. I have been there many times and never had something I didn't like. It's also a great place for a coffee and dessert. The back garden is heavenly in the springtime. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone visiting Brno.
