This is actually quite a good place to go and in particular their lunchtime menus often feature Balkan food, as the owners are Bosnian.
Despite that they do like to charge for everything. They mainly serve pasta dishes and pizza, but they do not put any Parmesan on the table. A portion of Parmesan costs extra, as does more milk for the coffee....
Today's menu was Penne Pollo Pikante and as I was a regular there, they know I like it extra spicy. When the bill came, they charged an extra 19Kc to make the dish extra spicy. Whilst I am not to bothered about the extra cost, there is a principle behind this. 19kc just for what was probably an extra spoon of chilli?
From now on I will no longer visit Carpe Diem. Sabaidy, which is just down the road will be my favoured destination.
