“Luxury”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

We walked into this hotel with no reservation after escaping a horrific hotel in the outskirts of town. From the moment we walked in, it was the luxury we needed.

The staff were wonderful, we dined at the restaurant and the waitress was an absolute pleasure. The shower and spa bath were a dream for relaxing.

We got the basic room, and it was massive. So much space. The bed was so comfortable. The breakfast was also really good.

Unfortunately we didn't spend much time there, but if we ever are back in Brno we would go back there in a second.

The location is fantastic and staff is very friendly.
The hotel facility and sanity is excellent.
But the price is comparatively higher.
It was a nice stay there and I will highly recommend this place.

This hotel tries to give the impression of the best hotel in Brno. Despite a very nice location and accommodation of the hotel I would expect better client-orientated approach. Reception desk staff should be more professional.

GOOD

* Fantastic sense of cohesive design melding a fine old building with a modern overlay that works splendidly...the central atrium is light and airy and, well, just a pleasant friendly space. Checkout the underlit bar sofas...straight out of Clockwork Orange or what!

* Nice spacious room (eventually) with delightful spring opening doors. No juggling suitcases, key card and the door handle, just touch the pad and 'click' the door springs open for you.

* Solid straight down the middle breakfast buffet

* Good location within striking distance of castle; St Peter & Paul Cathedral and park; sprinking of local restaurants round about serving tasty food at good prices. I walked down to the delightful L'Eau de Vive and even got to try out my Franglais with the Polynesian staff. Enjoy!

* Wonderful subterranean spa complex with saunas, loungers and darkened ethereal sit-around-on-benches shower room with basins, foot washes, and body showers. Pity it didn't seem to be used by anyone including me..<sigh>...rigours of business trips never seem to admit of allocating a good 3 hours to this sort of relaxation experience.

NOT SO GOOD

* Top floor rooms are big but windows are only skylights set high in ceiling <urggh>

* Checkout queues...which I think were due to the somewhat bureaucratic Czech hospitality systems...each checkout seemed to involve masses of typing and tabbing by the belaboured desk staff to get through the checkout process...some BPE needed there I think.

LITTLE EXTRAS
* Shoe horn - yes
* Bath robe - yes

Room Tip: Avoid the top floor unless you like the privacy of no windows on the walls!

This is a wonderful place with a stylish interior, very friendly staff, who tries to make your stay enjoyable and hassle-free. Very comfortable furniture, a lot of light in the room, the bed giving the rest, even those people who have problems with the spine. Breakfast is simple but varied for different preferences. Amazing view from the windows.

Room Tip: Best views in the corner rooms.
