Not fancy by any means, this is a good traditional restaurant. We were only in Brno for the day, so it was nice to be able to sample a local beer. Also, with Brno being near the wine growing regions, we tried some local wines as well. The food was typical Czech fare--lots of meat, dumplings and heavy sauces. It was tasty and filling. The service here was very friendly and welcoming. We wanted to buy some of their beer mugs, and they were very accomodating (and reasonably priced). This restaurant is a stately presence on the side of the cabbage market, so it's easy to locate.
