“For a touristy location, this was pretty good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

It's a touristy location, you're not going to get a little authentic place where locals go. But if you're a tourist in the Old Town, it's a pretty good place to go! The best bit is the actual building, originally built in 1400 and since reconstructed, but with fantastic wall murals and a lot of history. It was fairly quiet on a Tuesday evening at the end of September, which was perfect as i wanted some peace and quiet to relax and do a bit of work as I ate. Main course was OK, nothing special, but I highly recommend the curd balls in blueberry sauce. Both courses were presented very well, and the curd balls were delicious even though I don't normally eat desserts. Waiter was friendly and attentive, couldn't have asked for much more, and the price reasonable. From previous reviews, the onion soup is probably not worth having, and the emphasis is definitely on meat rather than veg. But I was very happy with somewhere that didn't feel at all touristy (apart from the menu in about 23 languages) in such a location.

“Rude waiters, bad food and hidden service fees!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2012

Look, I don't mind giving tips at all. But when we were about to pay the waitress suddenly adds a service fee that wasn't shown on the receipt. This is probably illegal and highly unprofessional. All in all the food was the rather overpriced touristy kind of a deal. I know Prague and speak Czech, so please trust me and better go elsewhere.

“Warm ambient and good Czech wine”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2012

Besides de Mala Stranska Namesti, in front of the Saint Nicholas Church. It is a great place to have some to eat and drink, very well attended in a warm ambient with candles at night.

The onion soup was delicious, also the Czech white wine, all very affordable.

“Apple strudel and cappuccino before a long walk around the Prague castle!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2012

Firstly we came round there on the way to the Prague castle. Actually it was the first morning of the first visit to Prague. It was very cold outside and we were just saved by the warmth of this cafe and their strudel and cappuccino. It was the best meal I've ever had. Really! I'm sure I'll start my next trip to Prague with this cafe again :) Besides they serve a very tasty mixture of meat things like sausages, bacon, jelly minced meat, something smoked, etc. It's very good with their beer.
