“Blessing to the Performers_Tosca”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013

Historical Building, interesting scene props and costumes, and the performers really sang their hearts out for Tosca, however, is there an artistic director to help them express more subtle nuances through their voices?

“Tosca”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

Opera as it should be: beautifully performed, stunning theatre and accessible prices - at least for most tourists. Even the drinks are at normal bar prices!

We took a box (same seat price as main hall), affording a slightly better view - but probably less comfortable: sitting on standard wooden seats, rather than the plush-cushioned theater stalls in the centre. Sound of orchestra also seemed to be slightly dampened - though this did not really detract from the quality of the performance.

If the theatre was fairly full, there were still pleny of spare seats, so last-minute bookings are definitely an option (at least on a weekday evening). Note that most people made an effort to dress correctly (and some extravagantly) for the evening - so the few in jeans were definitely noticeable!

“Tosca there is amazing experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

Yestarday we have seen with my wife the Puccini´s TOSCA in State Opera in Prague and it is excellent performance. The decoration, costumes and vocal Performances - amazing. The story self and beautiful music, wonderful building of the Opera House - we have hade great evening. Pitty, that the theater is surrounded by city highway circle - you get the reality as soon as you leave the performance.

“Carmen”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

Went to see carmen. Beautiful building, especially the interior. The opera was good. It's not in English, but it's still very good. I would recommend a visit to the opera, especially if you are visiting for a few days or more. Note that some plays can be rather long in duration.

“Don carlo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013 via mobile

We have been in don carlo opera in the state opera on saturday evening. It was an amazing experiene. We booked tickets on the opera website which uses a private ticket office. You xan chhose a seat, we purchased a seat ina provate boxcwhich still cost about 1000 kc (about 40 euros) but there are seats in 100kc and it looks like you can sit everywhere and still have a good view. You can use the A metro line - muzeum station. The price of the food in the break is pretty cheap. The dressing code is formal but you still can see some sport elegant cloths in the audiance. Enjoy!!
