Description: We are non-smoking small family restaurant focused mainly on Czech cuisine. All of our meals are made without any glutamate, dyes, condiments and other preservatives. To flavor dishes we use just salt, pepper and fresh herbs. Come and try! Permanent menu starts at 3pm every weekday. The lunch menu is available from 11am till 3pm until then, but with very limited offer and especially for local people. Regular menu is then available all weekend plus we do weekend specials. “Fabulous”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013 via mobile

We are so happy we came here during our stay in Prague. The five of us are like kings for 1700 crowns, where we would have paid at least 5,500 back home. Food was well presented and the staff were very friendly. Brilliant!

“Best meal I've ever had!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

This restaurant is a little out of the way of the centre of Prague, but so worth the trip. We both ate the Roast Duck dish, and it was divine. I now dream of this meal! If you are in/going to Prague, it is definitely the place to eat!

“Here's why you will want to go to U Kroka.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

1) Easy to get to, on the trolley 3 (from our hotel), via taxi or on foot (1.3 miles so you need to be in shape for this option).
2) Varied and full menu from appetizers to zupa, fish, steak, pork and chicken.
3) Dinner for two:$25 which included Chicken breast stuffed with Czech ham and sundried tomatoes, pork loin with roasted potatoes on a bed of roasted cabbage (looked like Saur kraut but tasted much much better) and a side of creamed spinach, two bottles of still water and three 0.4 L. of fabulous Czech brew.

We sat outside without wait at 7p local on a Saturday night. The restaurant was crowded but not full. By 7:05 our first beer order was in and 7:10, while enjoying our first beer we ordered the above meal.

Great service, with the exception of a minor delay on the creamed spinach, could not have been better. Well spoken servers (male, I did not get his name) and two females who were both wait staff and food runners. He answered all questions (English) and we had a number of questions. I asked for his recommendations with two of the many options and his recommendation was spectacular.

This is a MUST visit restaurant!

“Excellent Food, cheap price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013 via mobile

Had some fantastic food here, Pork Knuckle, Pickles and creamy Potatoes that probably rank in my top 10 foods anywhere ever.

Pork ribs were excellently cooked and very tasty. Will definitely return here for some more perfect food.

“A nice place away from the beaten paths”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

This is a nice place, a bit outside the tourist traps that lie in the center of Prague. The menu offers a number of items from the Czech culinary repertoire, with a special accent on dumplings, and various pieces of meat prepared usually with cabbage. Different options are possible for every stomach, from the kid's to the manly plate consisting of a full kilo (2.2lbs) of meat!

Our food was nicely prepared and dressed, and it was even better accompanied by a half liter of the national Pilsner Urquell beer. However, the glass of wine that was ordered was really too vinegary.

As the weather was really nice, the windows leading to the front terrace were open. Unfortunately, people were smoking there and the stench was a bit overwhelming at time. Also, about mid-meal, a group of around ten men arrived for a party and the noise level went up a billion notches. These may be two flukes but made the end of our meal a bit less enjoyable.
