“Great location, Great value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

I stayed for a couple of days in Prague at Residence Bene. The location (Dhloua) is unbeatable and the staff was very friendly.

The hostel was well equipped and they also had a very good morning breakfast to help the day get started early. I loved my room and the facilities such as wireless and the ability to get back to the hotel using the security card made it great. My room was very comfortable as well and the price that I paid made it totally worth it.

The staff went to great lengths to make my stay comfortable. On the last day of my stay, the person at the front desk also helped me with a deferred payment when I came in to take my luggage (since I had extra cash) and he was willing to wait for my payment where I could pay partly by credit card and partly by cash.

Room Tip: Very good breakfast served in the morning.

We spent a week in this hotel. The staff were very helpful in giving us directions were to go and what transport to catch making our visit to Prague quite enjoyable.Breakfast was more than enough with plenty of very very good coffee. The room was quite spacious and very clean especially the bathroom which was very clean.as for the towels, I've seen better in various hotels I've been too, could be a little softer, but will be beneficial to remove any loose skin anyone might have.As for us this those not apply. Internet was very good on the 2nd floor.
We wouldn't mind at all going back again to this hotel next time we visit Prague.

Room Tip: 2nd floor very quite but at the back

Bene gives a good value for your money. Perfectly situated with all the major tourist sights within walking distance. Our room was a bit worn but had a newly renovated, clean bathroom with shower. From other postings on this site and other ones we had read about terrible hard bathroom towels. Rubbish, I say. The towels are perhaps not to dry a newborn baby with, but if you have normal skin without serious problems there is no need whatsoever to bring your own towel from home!
The beds were all right and the new double windows was soundproof and stopped the noise from the traffic. The safebox in the room was easy to handle. Brekfast wasn´t luxury but allright with many choices of bread, ham, marmelades, butter, cheese, cereals, coffe, tea and milk but we really missed a plate with sliced tomatoes and cucumbers, there were no fresh vegetables or fruit at all. In the small reception there are two Internet connected computers free to use for hotel guests. The rooms have no aircondition, so in late July and August the rooms might be hot. The staff was very serviceminded and the hotel offers a transfer for four people from and to the airport for only 600 CZK each way. That is about 30 US $ or 22 €. We paid 54€ per night for the room and will gladly stay there again on our next trip to Prague, one the lovliest cities in Europe!

Room Tip: We stayed at the fourth floor and was not disturbed by the sounds from the street.

The Location & the brilliant staff saved this hotel in my review - great staging post.

A negative, was that they were stilling building the hotel around us...
I'm not joking - we had 4 rooms, and one morning a group woke up to workmen INSIDE their room drilling etc.

I arrived, and had no mattress. There were building materials all in the hallway.
Workmen were working outside our window, and we had no curtains... you really couldn't make it up.

Staff were fantastic - really patient, and flexible - very good standard of English.

We paid very little, and got... an experience.
We didn't expect the ritz, and the hotel was easy to get to/from all the time.

Can't knock it... memorable visit.

We stayed for 3 nights and feel it was good value for money. The location was fantastic - we could easily walk everywhere we needed to go. Also very handy to be able to come and have a rest in the middle of the day when we were tired of walking around.

Had to laugh reading the other reviews after returning - yes the towels could do with replacing! Very worn and rough but for the price we paid we wouldn't complain. Also a few "rough edges" like some signs of what looks like leakage on the roof etc - but again, it wasn't a problem and we were happy for this as a trade off for the great location and good price.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, and welcoming even at the late hour we arrived. Good english. Comfortable beds and everything was clean. There was even a fridge and a microwave which we didn't need but handy to have I guess.

At first we were concerned about noise when we saw the "Beer Museum & Pub" next door and asked for a quiet room as far from this as possible. We were given a quite large room on the 5th floor. Ironically, the noise from outside was absolutely no problem - we didn't hear anything. But at 2am each night (pub closing time?) for the 3 nights in a row, we were woken by drunken guests - or perhaps staff, as it seemed the room next to us was filled with building stuff (which we are guessing was for the top floor renovations). The first night there was very loud knocking for quite some time, same thing second night and the final night several guys singing very loudly. We're not sure of the language but we're thinking it may have been Czech folk songs - maybe this was a free performance! However rather annoying as we'd taken a break from the kids for a few days so would have been nice to be able to sleep a whole night through!!!! Maybe make sure everyone has a key to their room so they don't have to wake others to let them in (we're guessing this was what was happening) and if it was staff, then certainly talk to them about this!

The breakfast was good and we appreciated this being included each day. Overall, we'd really recommend giving it a go if you want something quite budget and central - maybe just take some earplugs and a soft towel!!

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room - we wouldn't recommend the one we were in on the 5th floor as were woken a...

Very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were worn and everything was covered in dust. The soup dispenser did not work. If you are going to stay here make sure you take your own towels with you as the towels have been washed so many times that they are stiff as a brick and aesthetically undesirable. Breakfast is basic but OK.
On the plus side the location is superb, very close to old town, Charles Bridge etc. Our room was massive. I think if I was in my teenage years this place would have been heaven as its neighbors are a cocktail bar and the beer museum( good selection of Czech Beers) and its at a great price if you are a student looking to just enjoy the night life, with a modest budget.
On the last night our room had a leak through the ceiling, but all credit to the hotel as they did not have any rooms available they relocated us to another hotel which was more expensive and they paid for all the excess.
I hope the management of the hotel notices that they have a great staff with a good location and with a little investment in simple things such as towels or changing old and worn materials such as mirrors, shower heads etc it can offer its customers a great experience.

Its a nice hotel. It looks a little bit old, and it smells kind of funny in some rooms, however its ok. Quality=price. The towels are a little bit old and rough. All in all, its ok if you do not plan to stay much in the hotel
