“superbly located”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

this is a really nice little hotel. Nothing fancy, but clean and decent rooms. Nice breakfast and helpfull people.
The best of it all is the location. You're in the monastry overlooking Prague far from the hustle and bustle of the city center yet within walking distance of this beautiful city.
Walking down to the cite you walk through some vineyards and past the palace.
There's a nice restaurant next to the hotel where you can have a nice dinner with a view.
We stayed here juli 2012 (but couldn't select that from the menu below)

We found this hotel on the Internet and we were not disappointed. In fact, we were delighted!!! Luckily our cab driver knew the hotel, because others had difficulty finding it, but it was well worth the hunt. A very old property remodeled to provide every modern amenity, except elevators. However, the gentleman at the front desk was happy to help with luggage, as well as answer any questions we had. He directed us to a wonderful lunch spot and made sure we had everything we needed. Our bed was quite comfortable. Be warned that not all the rooms have air conditioning. We opened our windows and were fine. The breakfast that was included was quite delicious. We enjoyed ours on the outside terrace, where we relaxed the night before and enjoyed a glass of wine. The hotel is centrally located and many points of interest were within easy walking distance. We were amazed with the cleanliness of the area and so enjoyed the sights. I highly recommend this property to everyone visiting Prague.

Room Tip: If you cannot live without air conditioning, be sure to request a room that has it.

This was such a lovely place to stay! Staff were very friendly, the hotel has real character, and it was nice to be out of town a little bit, it was quiet, and the views were lovely. The stairs to our room would be tricky if you were not very mobile, but we loved the quirkiness of our room, which had a mezzanine for the bed! Lovely views.

Room Tip: Our room was on the top floor, which was a pain with the stairs, but well worth it for the view.

This hotel is small (13 rooms), very efficiently run, featuring highly attentive and knowledgeable staff, delicious breakfasts and a location that allows for getting to Old Town Prague easily either by foot or by tram. We were blessed to have 4 nights in this historical landmark, set on the hill above Old Town.
Staff was a great help with reservations for dinner and for the famous Image Black Light Theater, We will definitely stay here again if we are able to return to Prague!

We stayed in this hotel recently for 2 nights, and were extremely pleased with almost every aspect.
The concierge / receptionist was outstanding. Good english and extremely helpful and friendly at all times. Helped us get dinner reservations and with advice on seeing the sights.
The room was smallish but with great historical feel along with all modern comforts. The view from the room was absolutely outstanding, hard to get a better view anywhere in the world.
Great breakfast also included in our room price.
Only minor negative was that the room was a bit warm (being on the top floor) during an unusually hot day in Prague.
Would recommend to all.

First of all I would like to point out, that my feelings about this place are rather positive. I really appreciated very helpful and always smiling staff, the position near places of interest (but still in peaceful monastery complex), modern and clean bathroom and the overall feeling of my stay. Now things, that I did not like so much. I really did not like the position of my table in my room. It was situated in the dark corner far away from small window. Secondly, I was expecting 24 hours reception, but after 7 PM you can only check-in via phone and take your key from an envelope on the other side of the entrance door. In my room was not the information about the time when the breakfast is served (7 - 9 AM). The breakfast itself was traditional continental one, I had better ones. And last but not least the stairs to the sleeping part of my room were very steep (this can be problem for older customers). But after all, I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Some rooms have very steep stairs to the sleeping part of the room, keep yourself informed!

We spent a long weekend at Residence Monastery in Mid May and we had a wonderful time in this very well located hotel. Our room was comfy and well furnished with a beautiful view over the city. You're actually located within the Strazhov Monastery and there are bars, restaurants and major tourist attractions all within walking distance. However it is up the very long hill from the Old Town so you need to enjoy a spirited climb! The Hotel Staff are kind and friendly but we would suggest calling to confirm your booking in advance. We would definitely stay there again.
