“Definitely not a 4 star hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2012

This hotel is really not worth staying. First of all we drove there and once we arrived we couldn't park anywhere because it's located in a residential area. So we had to pay 12 euro a day more just to park the car one block away in an unsecured parking lot. The double room was extremely small and we couldn't even go on the tiny patio cause the door was locked from outside. The bathroom was not very clean. Furthermore the restaurant was disappointing. The breakfast was greasy and definitely not a 4 star standard. The dinner was boring, cheap food and overpriced.
The location is ok. It's a 15 minutes bus ride to the historical part of Prague.
Not recommended.

As a number of other reviewers have alluded to, the Hotel Aramis is listed as a 4* hotel; like many of the other reviewers I would agree that this is more a 3* hotel. However, that should in no way detract from staying here. Me and a friend had a twin room which was very spacious and have paid a lot more for a lot less room before. My bed was extremely comfortable and I have no complaints about that; could do with an improved pillow perhaps. The room was tidied every morning with fresh towels being provided; only grumble I would have about the cleaning is that it is started before breakfast has even finished so for most mornings I was woken a little earlier than planned! Each room has a password for the free wifi which was an added bonus. Breakfast was included with the rate and was very acceptable. Every day we walked there and back into the centre, but this would certainly not be for everyone as it is a fair trek; there are however tram and bus routes approximately 2 minutes walk up the hill, so getting into the centre is simple.

Firstly, do not consider staying at the Hotel Aramis if you are looking for a nice 4* hotel. The Aramis would be pushing it if it was a 3* hotel. On arrival the receptionist was friendly, showed us to our Triple Comfort room, which only had 2 beds. When we asked why we did not have the third bed, she grumbled about the booking being a Triple. Yes, in English, Triple means 3. Rather than waiting around to watch her struggle with another bed, we decided to go for a walk.

The location of the hotel is rubbish. Wedged between 2 Soviet Council Estates and a Park, about a 10 minute drive in a cab to anywhere worth going, or close to 30 minutes by tram or bus to the centre of Prague.

You can walk to the centre, but definitely plan for at least 45 minutes.

When we returned from our walk the bed was squeezed into the room, and definitely did not match the title of "Comfort".

We fancied a drink before bed, and looked in the empty mini-bar. We then phoned down to reception to ask for some beers because the mini-bar was empty. DO NOT USE ANY OF THE ROOM SERVICES AT THE ARAMIS. When checking out, the bill that was presented was about 5 times what we expected for 3 beers. It turns out that they had decided to add about 20 items to the bill, at a cost of approx £40 more than expected. This is DISHONEST and frankly DISGUSTING behaviour.

DO NOT BOOK THE ARAMIS IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR GOOD PRICE/QUALITY. BY THE TIME YOU HAVE PAID FOR CABS TO AND FRO AND BUSES AND TRAMS, YOU MIGHT AS WELL HAVE STAYED IN THE CENTRE.

Seriously, there are far better places, at better prices.

Room Tip: You might as well not bother trying, just be prepared to do some shouting to get an extra bed.

The location of the hotel was very ideal because it was very close to the historical / tourist area of Prague. The staff are very nice and they are bilingual, and you can book your tours with them instead of going on line and booking tours. They also offer transportion to and from the airport and the surrounding neigborhood is safe and friendly. They offer Wifi but it's weak at times and they have limited channels on the TV. There contact info is [--] and there email is [--] and there website is www.hotelaramis.cz . They serve only breakfast and dinner and there rooms a small compare to hotels in the US.

In the middle of communist block of flats seat small ambitious hotel. Although presented as 4* you will soon realize that this is really only average 3* hotel, with all benefits and disadvantages. Room was nice & clean, bathroom had some minor issue. But location is to far fom centre to take a walk, it's almost 15 minutes by car. Whole neighbourhood looks little depressing without any points of interest. Small dinning room placed in underground floor didn't rise atmosphere too. Last but not least, this hotel is pricy.

Room Tip: Do not choose room on first (zero) floor, which have almost no privacy if you want to have opened wi...

This hotel is way out of the centre of Prague, but serves as a reasonable base for the budget traveller. I was travelling as part of a group of 16 other people on a party weekend. If you want a quiet romantic place to stay I would avoid this hotel as it does cater for stag-do's! It is clean, the staff are unwelcoming but efficient and the breakfast is very good. The rooms are pleasant but please do not come here hoping for a room with a view! There are a few very cheap and cheerful local bars in the vacinity which are 1/10th of the price of drinking in Praha 1. This is excellent if your primary objective to have a good time with friends and mull over one too many beers before heading into town. Overall Prague is beautiful, but this hotel looks on to a council style housing block. I you want views, service and splendour pay the extra. If you want simple, cheap and clean with the prospect of the odd loud group...stay here.

The hotel is excellent value if you get the deal I did on expedia, something like €18 a night. The location is good and close enough to walk into Prague city. The down side is the staff are rude and uninterested and the Resturant is expensive and sucks. Saying that I would probably stay there again for the money. All a cheap but average hotel.
