“Best Place to stay in Prague”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

A friend and I found this gem on tripadvisor and thought we would give it a try for a weekend away in Prague. Upon arrival Kristina was incredibly welcoming, helpful and wanted to ensure Prague was our favourite city of Europe. Her customer service skills were the best I have ever experienced, and along with her vast knowledge of Prague she was the perfect host. Travelling Europe and staying in some very nice hotels, I couldn't recommend a better hotel to stay in. A home away from home that my friend and I will certainly be returning to! Kristina helped in making Prague one of my favourite cities in the world, so much so that I am already planning to revisit this year.

Kristina was a great host during our three night stay at Aparthotel City 5. She is warm and welcoming and is a great ambassador for Prague. At just over 50 Euro a night we thought it was a great deal. The location of the hotel is a few minutes walk from the Andel tram and Metro stop which will get you just about anywhere you want to go within 10 minutes or so. You could walk down into the old town square in about 25-30 minutes but the weather was quite bad while we were there.

The room was clean and comfortable. The shower had good temperature and water pressure. There was a decent breakfast option for 4 Euros and Kristina makes a good cup of coffee. Over all we were very happy with our stay and we'll be sure to book here again the next time we are in Prague.

I stayed in this hotel with my 2 mates on a trip to Prague. I must admit i have never met a host like the ginger hair lady(i believe her name was Kristina) during my traveling around Europe. It must be her personality because i can't remember feeling so welcomed anywhere else. I felt like we have been pals for years!! Her English is great, she's packed with information you need and her positive 'can do' attitude is amazing. Rooms are very tidy and bathroom was spotless. The price was very good as well.In the morning we got treated to complimentary coffee and a great chat while she was folding her laundry. Honestly i felt like at home!! Highly recommended and hats off to the lady host for the treatment she provides for her guests.

this hotel was great and Kristina's service was the best I have ever experienced in my entire life! her hospitality and caring nature ensured that we both thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Prague.

we had quite a delay with flights from England to the Czech Republic and didn't arrive to Prague until quite late. Kristina made sure that we didn't go to bed hungry (or thirsty!) and left us some food and beer free of charge for us! that was the clincher in my opinion! :)

I have already recommended this hotel to family and friends back home but now I'm recommending it to everyone across the world. you must stay here! :)

ps you must try Kristina's toasties - they're to die for!

Our family of 4 stayed at the Aparthotel for 4 nights in mid-March and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. First among the many great aspects of the hotel is Kristina (see below for more on this GREAT host). Second, the 2 room apartment was a welcome break from most other hotel options for families. These huge, separate bedrooms within the same apartment was nice, as was the well-stocked kitchenette (which we used for the odd cup of tea or glass of beer, but would serve a foursome quite well). Third, the kid's area inside the hotel was a nice, safe retreat for my under 10 children-they independently made there way down to this area each morning allowing the adults a few more moments of sleep. Fourth, although the hotel was full, the hotel was very quiet during our stay - very little noise internally or externally (it was too cold to open the windows, so mid-summer might be different for external noise). Finally, the morning breakfast made a great start to the day. While not included in the price of our room, the cost was negligible but so convenient and friendly.

Among other positives is the internet access in the cafe, the free wifi in the hotel, the posting of daily events in the lobby, the sale of public transport tickets at the front desk, the car service that can be arranged to/from the airport/train station (english speaking driver).

Enough cannot be said about how helpful Kristina was. We booked through the hotel's website and got a follow up e-mail from her confirming our reservation and offering to book us a car from the train station. We took her up on the offer and the driver was waiting as arranged. We arrived at the hotel after 8 pm. Kristina immediately showed the kids the play area and offered us a cup of tea and a pastry (gratis) and asked if we needed any help with our travel plans. When we said that we really hadn't made any yet, she offered to loan us a Rick Steve's travel guide and provided a city map that she marked up with a variety of sites, including several very fun things that weren't in Rick's guide. This personalized attention was consistent throughout our stay, and we saw this same positive attitude with all the guests. She made our stay all that much more enjoyable.

We intend to go back to Prague again and we'll be planning on staying here!

I have been meaning to write this review forever... Anyway, I stayed here for 3 nights back on September 2012, Kristina is absolutely amazing! This hotel is actually on the other side of the Charles Bridge, but only takes about 2-3 more subway stops till the Old Town! You actually get to see more of a local scene on your way to the subway. The HQ of Staropramen (famous Czech beer) is actually right next to the Hotel too!

She arranged a ride to take us from the Prague airport to the hotel (which took about 20 min - it was around 10pm already too). Upon arriving, Kristina was very friendly and straight-forward and offered us drinks and told us where we should visit! We had done some research before arriving but it was still very helpful! We followed her advice and had a wonderful time in Prague.

The rooms are very clean and neat, and a lot of room since this is more of an apartment type of hotel. The beds are comfy and the we had everything we need in the room.

Unfortunately, one of my friends actually had some allergy and even had to go to the hospital... Not knowing any Czech at all, we called Kristina for help at around 9pm... she actually arranged a taxi ride for us to the hospital and we're very thankful because none of the signs was in English! Thank you so much Kristina! On a sidenote, my friend didn't even get charged for the emergency visit! The doctor kind of just said don't worry about it - same thing can't be said about the American medical system.

Anyway, I highly recommend staying here and if I ever visit Prague again (maybe this year again!), I will definitely stay at ApartHotel again!

Oh and, Kristina makes amazing toasts! Thank you so much Kristina, even though we have only met for 3 days, but hosts like you always put a smile on our face :)

We stayed 3 nights at the end of our 3 week journey across Europe, and what a wonderful way to say goodbye! Kristina and Gastone were amazing... We missed our train in Vienna and arrived late, we felt terrible, but it didn't seem to be too much of a bother. When we arrived, we were running out of clean clothes, and didn't realize their laundry services actually was a service! It was a luxurious change for us not to have to wait at a machine while our clothes got clean! The room was huge (for Europe) with beautiful wood floors, well appointed kitchenette, shower, WC, comfy bed and a rooftop view. The common areas were clean and welcoming as well. Breakfast was tasty, and the cafe had a bustling, happy atmosphere. We had a few good late morning chats after everybody had left for the day (we are more noon-1am type explorers) and they said something that has stuck with me... They can't travel much what with the demands of the business.... so they let the world and its stories come to them! We told them we wished we could stay longer, and Kristina said if we had, she would have set us up with a journey to the beautiful Czech countryside. We will have to return for it, I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else in Prague!
