“Lovely stay, would go again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

We had two days in Prague and this hotel is only a few stops on the tram from central Prague in a quiet neighbourhood. We upgraded to a honeymoon suite which suited us as we could have breakfast in the room with some other perks like champagne and jaccuzi bath. Very impressed by Czech plumbing - bath fills in a minute or so - we did not have problems with shortage of hot water. Staff were indeed very friendly and they give all directions you ever need

Room Tip: We had a room at the front and there is very little sound - impressively insulated

This hotel has a quaint old world charm which meshes quite well with atmosphere of Praha. All the rooms have antique furnishing, including old fashioned telephones! However, the bathrooms are anything but old fashioned - they have Jacuzzis and black marble finishing. I would highly recommend trying the jacuzzi out, it cost very less to use. The only issue with the jacuzzi was that just one use used up all the hot water for the room, and it took hours to get hot water again. Their free breakfast is one of the best buffet breakfasts I have seen. The staff was very courteous. When we arrived we didn't have local currency, but the staff gave us some local metro daily passes along with directions of where we could get the currency converted at best possible rates. This hotel has all the quality of a top class hotel at the price of a budget hotel.

Just back from a weekend in Prague and stayed here.Found the hotel to be clean and tidy. Room a little small but more than adequate for what we needed.Breakfast was pretty basic but again not a major issue.Location of hotel very good. Nearest tram stop 1 minute walk. Helpful staff more than happy to recommend restaurants and give advice about public transport, tickets etc. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

having just come back from staying for 4 nights at the King Charles Boutique hotel i would like to say how friendly and helpful the staff were and how clean and quiet the hotel was. Not right in the centre of Prague, but only a short tram ride away with a tram stop a 2 min walk away.. We only really used the Hotel as a base, and for this it was great, breakfast was nice and included in the price. only a couple of things which were a little annoying, but we weren't there much so wasn't too much of a pain, 1st Television was useless, no english channels at all, not even the news! (hotel did apologise and say they were working on that), 2nd, the wet room (which was lovely, clean and big) didn't have a shower head holder.. so you had to hold the shower in your hands to wash, which was a little annoying when trying to soap up, had to keep turning it on and off.. and 3rd, there is no bar ! not a big problem with Lidl across the street and bars near by, but would have been nice.. overall would recommend

Room Tip: we had a room facing inwards.. not really a view but lovely and quiet

Just three nights here as a present from our daughters, who found the hotel on Tripadvisor. A very short tram ride to all the sights, and a spotless hotel with excellent, helpful staff, who were genuinely happy to help.

Room Tip: We were in a deluxe room, with jacuzzi - but we never spend much time in the room.

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at this comfortable and welcoming hotel. We thoroughly recommend it and would definitely return to it ourselves. We booked a Superior room for a modest additional charge that was well worth it. Our room was large and well equipped and had a very comfortable king sized bed. We slept great. Lots of wardrobe and drawer space and a writing desk. There was plenty of floor space. There was a mini bar fridge that was useful for cooling our own shop-bought drinks. A TV which we didn't use. And a safe. Very good wifi. The bedroom was off a small entrance vestibule and there was a separate door into an en-suite. This had a 3/4 bath with a shower facility, a toilet and washbasin and a large heated rail/radiator. There was hot water available all the time and it came out the tap like the clappers! Towels provided. The bedroom was always warm despite cold outside temperatures and there was an electric wall mounted radiator if a boost was required. The hotel had a solid feel to it. Solid walls throughout and nicely carpeted stairs and corridors. This all provided for a quiet and peaceful time. On arrival we were greeted very friendly in English (all the staff were very competent in English) and shown to a room on the second floor at the front. This overlooks the road and tram. To be honest the noise was not a problem. It was a background sound, not intrusive. But we asked if there was a room at the rear of the hotel as I am a bit fussy! There was and we liked Room 26 better and so we moved. The advantage of the room at the front was the great views across the city. But I was happier with no view. We were 100% happy with our room throughout the 5 nights. I think a more centrally located hotel would be noisy and not as nice as this one. Prague is super busy all the time. Breakfast was from early (7 something) to 10am. It was buffet style and there was so much variety provided that there would be something for everyone's taste. Though of course, if you are expecting full English, better stay in England. The breakfast room was of good size and comfortable. From the hotel we could walk to the river in about 5 minutes. The old town was about half hour away and we usually walked along the river. We walked everywhere and only very occasionally jumped on a tram or used the metro. The transport system is very easy to use. The hotel sells travel tickets. If you want travel info, you can mail me and I will be happy to help. We travelled from the airport using public transport. It's a bus (119), a metro (line A) and a tram (number 17 or 18). And it was a doddle. Everything is linked and so well thought out. It cost £1 each. The hotel offer a taxi at 28 Euro I think. The hotel recommend a few local restaurants and have 10% discounts for some of them. We tried U Semika which was a minute away and were happy with the meal but we totally loved U Kroka which was 3 minutes away and we ate there three times. The food is excellent and there is plenty. We generally shared a starter and a dessert and had a main each with a drink and a coffee to end. The cost was around £15. Not each. That is the total cost! We booked the first meal there by email from the UK and then booked further visits as we went along. It's a well used place by all nationalities and it's wise to book although it looked like you could just turn up and wait to be fitted in. There is a small mini-mart just yards away from the hotel and a small Tesco (yes, a Tesco) just 5 minutes walk away. We had one day trip. We went to the martyr village of Liddice. This is about 50 minutes away by metro and bus (number 56 from Dejvicka) and was an emotional experience. The museum there is a must to fully appreciate what happened there and its context.

Room Tip: Rooms on the courtyard side are quieter.

Rooms was small but clean and elegantlydecorated. It is a bit off the beaten path so finding a restaurant for dinner was a bit of a challenge. I as only there one night so it fit my budget and exceeded my expectations.
