“Great Value for the money, good location, under 5 min to Old Town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2011

The Antik Hotel is a fairly standard hotel, however for 50 € a night for the 2 us, which included VAT and a reasonable breakfast buffet there are no complaints. The hotel is down a side street off a main artery in Praha and in the "new Town" area. It is no more than a 5 minute Strassenbahn (tram) ride to Old Town and about 15 minutes up to the main tourist site of the Prague Castle. The hotel itself underwent a refurbishment sometime since the 1989 turnover, but don't expect the Four Seasons, nor should you for the price paid. If you are the type that needs a good bed to sleep in and hotel staff that speak English this should work well for you.

Room Tip: Ask for a room off the street (courtyard side) - it will be quieter in the morning.

We stayed 6 nights in this Hotel, last week. We arrived around 9.00pm local time and had been allocated a room on 3rd floor, no lift. Receptionist did say ask to change in the morning. This was no problem, we got a room on second floor with a lift in this part of the building. Breakfast was included and was the usual buffet style, very adequate. Hotel, whilst only a stone's throw from Old Town Square was quiet and peaceful. Price was reasonable £70 a night for double room and breakfast. Overall would highly recommend the Hotel. Helpful hint when looking to eat out search out the Pub's excellent food and beer we had several meals for 2 around £20 total price. The Italian restaurants were very expensive so we avoided.

What can I say? We stayed there for 3 nights and thought that it was a great hotel. Very central, though far enough away from the main streets to be less busy with passers by. The area/street it's in is very nice. Breakfast was good and the staff were very helpful. We had a room in the attic (309) which was huge - as long as you don't mind the stairs. I would not hesitate in recomending this place to others. Top notch!

Room Tip: The attic rooms are great if you don't mind the stairs.

The hotel is within walking distance to most attractions. We even walked to the castle and beyond.
We stayed 9 nights and found the breakfast to be a bit boring after the 3 night. Same limited selection every morning. Supermarket (Billa) was close by.
Our 3rd floor room was large, clean and a balcony overlooking the street. The airconditioner worked.
The staff was friendly and helpful.

From the airport shuttle, the hotel desk person, the room, the breakfast, the attached restaurant.....everything excellent! Very close to everything. Would definitely recommend it and we hope to go back!

Several thought after staying there for 5 nights...
Antik City hotel is conveniently located near a Metro station, also many tram lines are accessible in a 5-minutes walking range. We went there from airport, in less than one hour, using public transportation ( however, a map is required for reaching hotel from the metro station).
Checkin was fast, friendly receptionist.
Rooms: we had a room with street view, furniture is not new, but still ok, the bathroom was really big and very nice. The nasty thing with the street-view room is that we could here all the cars running on the street( not many, as it is a dead end street ).
Food: it's a small hotel , so don't expect plenty of dishes. Reasonable for several breakfasts.
Overall, a 8/10 grade.

There's a fair bit of character in this hotel, nice and close to the main square in the old city. We had a spacious double room with a balcony. The breakfast had a huge range of hot and cold foods to choose from and it all seemed good quality. We paid 95 euro for a double room for one night.

We booked thru a tourist office at the main train station so it might be a bit cheaper if you contact the hotel directly.
