“Colloseum Praha”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

This place is NOT a 3 star hotel, so terrible.
I booked this hotel just looking the website on internet. Service is really poor, only one person at the reception was nice, they other ones never smiled.

There are 4 floors and no elevators, nobody was there to help, there's no concierge. There are no laundry facilities.

1) Check out at: 10:30!?!?? Why not at 11:00?
2) Breakfast: Finishes at 09:30!?!?!? Why not at least 10:00 / 10:30? Oange juice? Only with too much water on it. Breakfast could be much better.
3) In my room there was just 01 drapery (that couldn`t cover the whole window). I`ve told to the lady at the frontdesk, but nothing happened.
4) Cable TV? FORGET IT! Just Rai, 01 German and 01 Russian channel. Nothing more.
5) The pictures on internet looks better that the reallity.
6) WI FI ONLY works just during the day. if you access at night, the connection will fail.
7) Room: Is in the first floor, right to the front of hotel/street. Too noisy, you can hear the people talking/walking all night long. HORRIBLE!
8) Price/Quality: There is another hotel (300mts far from Colloseum) that is AWESOME!

If you accross the street (in front of the hotel) you will find a very nice chinese restaurant (very kind people there).

Prague is AWESOME, BEAUTIFUL, but this place is HORRIBLE!

Room Tip: You can stay in another hotel with the same price, but with better quality. To Praha 1 area (Downto...

This really was basic and shabby - threadbare carpets and well worn towels, desperately in need of a lick of paint and a general update. But we found the bedding and the bathroom spotlessly clean and fresh, and that was more important than looks! All we wanted was a place to come back to at night and sleep: we weren't planning to hang out there. The breakfast was okay and the dining room pleasant. The reception staff were helpful. The stairs are a bit of a drag and could do with a carpet on them (you'll hear every other guest clattering up them at all hours).

A note for families: they didn't understand the concept of our daughter (age 3) being too old for a cot but not old enough for her own room. We were expecting some sort of put-me-up or sofa bed. They either didn't have one or had no idea what we were talking about! Our bed was roomy so she just slept inbetween us.

The location is great as it's a 15 minute walk to the centre, so really not too far, and there were nice cafes and bars in the vicinity if you wanted to stay local.

I booked this hotel without knowing (got ripped off by hotwire). Service is really poor, only one person at the reception was nice, they other ones never smiled. There are 4 floors and no elevators, nobody was there to help, there's no concierge. Rooms were dirty, especially the bathrooms, look pictures attached. There are no laundry facilities as hotwire told us. WI FI ONLY works if you stand by the reception, it didn't work anywhere else. Breakfast is poor. Also, there is no A.C. so if you go in the summer, be ready to sweat.
The bathroom was nasty, sheets had holes and so did the towels, very old linens. Our last day the girl in the reception refused to give us towels just because we were checking out that day.
Prague is beautiful, but this place was not. P.S. Don't always trust Hotwire.

Room Tip: There are no good rooms.

certainly would not consider this hotel 3 star. Tired decor, old towels which were only changed every three days,no lift, (its 4 storeys) , no one to help with bags, no wifi in rooms, no sink plug (!). Stock answer of staff to any complaint/query "I will get someone to sort it" which never actually happened. Breakfast poor, squash not juice, tastless ham & cheese, fruit teas or earl grey, heard at least 4 people ask for black tea. again promised to sort but nothing changed. Do NOT believe the pretty pictures on hotel site or facilities listed as available. Plus points hotel is well situated for Old Town.

Room Tip: opt for a lower floor room, the stairs are a nightmare

The colosseum hotel wasn't the greatest hotel. First off there is NO elevator in the 4 story hotel, so if your handicap or have a lot of bags, it's pretty hard to go upstairs. Especially when the stair case is old and jittery. Pillows in the hotel are really lumpy. I think when they wash the pillows they just put the whole thing in the washer or something. It was a pretty clean hotel, everyday the maid would go to each room and clean it. The problem I had for that part was that they never brought soap, shampoo they did, but no soap. The breakfast was pretty good, but if your staying there for five days like I did, it gets pretty old. The hotel was in a pretty good location, it was in walking distance of the old city and the bus stop was located right outside the hotel. Lastly there was Internet. The password was colloseum, just ask the hotel clerk. I don't suggest going to this hotel, because you might find better.

Not very clean, bathroom was grimy & towels are old & covered in stains. No air ventilation so rooms smell musty and old. Doors from other rooms slamming cause whole room to shudder continuously. Pretty good location, about a 5 minute walk to the old town.

All the major tourist spots are walking distance for average fitness [if weather isn't too good you can go anywhere on the metro, which is easy to use]. From Vysehrad to Prague castle. I found and excellent chocolate shop called Koruna Pralines...........equal to Swiss and Belgian! It is Short [5 mins] walk to city centre, trains], or river in the other direction. This is a beautiful city [so much history], which is very easy to get around on public transport but I wouldn't fancy trying to drive, or find a parking space. The locals are very friendly, but crazy drivers. You need to be careful on the pedestrian crossings. Lots of bridges cross the river and the scenery is marvellous.

Room Tip: There is no elevator so don't bring heavy luggage. If you can't manage stairs request the l...
