“A JEWEL IN THE CROWN OF PRAGUE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2012

Lida’s house is a great place to stay in Prague. Jiri and his wife Jana are great hosts, very kind and very warm people. The place is well maintained, clean and neat. Very safe to leave your valuables in the room. Our well-lit, cheerful room, with bathroom, was big enough to move around comfortably. Great breakfast buffet everyday. The gardens are well maintained and provide a place to have a tranquil evening dinner on food that you have brought back from a day exploring Prague. The house is located in a very quiet neighborhood, with restaurants, bakeries, little supermarkets, and wine shops, within an easy walk to provide an impromptu dinner after a long day on the cobbled streets of downtown Prague. Jiri sold us passes for the public transport, making our forays much more efficient; the subway is 5 minutes walk from the house and the tram is about 10 minutes in the other direction. Charles Bridge is a 35-minute walk from the house, down the hill and along the river - very pleasant on a sunny day. Jiri picked us up at the train station and dropped us at the airport for small extra charge. Lida’s is a place to stay away from the crowds, but within easy reach of the delights of old and new Prague - Highly recommended.

I very much enjoyed my stay at the Lida Guest House. Jiri, and his wife, Jana (sp?) were incredibly welcoming, accomodating and helpful. Their hospitality truly made our stay here a wonderful experience. The Lida Guest House is just a short walk to the #17 tram, which will take up directly to the heart of Prague. We enjoyed walking, as well, as the route take you right along the river. The breakfast was perfectly enjoyable, consisting of meats, cheeses, fruit, breads, juices. The rooms were very clean. Should I ever return to Prague I will stay here again.

Another fantastic review for Jan and Jiri. They were kind, welcoming, and accommodating hosts. The rooms are spacious, the beds comfy, and excellent breakfast! Location great too - very close to the metro and tram to get straight into the city. Highly recommended.

Jan was great. He picked us up from the airport and gave us a tour thru Prague on the way to the hotel. Showed us the castle, gave us historical facts of the city, pointed out the tram we would take and the tram stops. Helped us with tram passes and great info. The room was cool though it was close to 90 those few days, fan in the room helped. Breakfast was good....lovely place to stay. Easy to get back to the airport via local transportation but nice to have the initial entry with Jan as well. Very quiet location.

The Lida Guest House is amazingly well run. Jan and Jiri are friendly, warm, and helpful. They are welcoming and help introduce you to Prague--including helping to plan your excursions around Prague, providing bus tickets, and restaurant recommendations. The room we stayed in was large, clean and very comfortable. The breakfast spread was wonderful. Fast free wifi is a nice addition. Parking on the street is easy to find. The house is a little far from the city center, but it's a very easy tram ride and provides a nice quiet break from the bustle of the city. It was truly a comfortable and welcoming place to stay in Prague.

Prague was our 1st stop on a 3 city tour of Central Europe. I cannot say enough about what warm, generous hosts Jiri and Jana Prouza were. They made us feel so welcome and at home in
new & uncharted territory. Jiri had someone pick us up at the airport upon arrival (we paid a little extra for this) and offered to take us to the train station when we left (gratis). He had a supply of metro/tram tickets ever at the ready, arranged a couple of guided tours for us, was always helpful w/ directions & explanations. Our room was clean, spacious, light-filled and the bathroom was beautiful: large & modern. Breakfasts were delicious, copious spreads of cold-cuts, fruit, cheese,
rolls, yogurt, granola and very good coffee. And you could strike up interesting conversations in the dining room. All in all a wonderful introduction to Central Europe!

Wonderful hosts, very comfortable bed, delicious breakfast. We had been travelling around Europe for a few months and was great to have a stress free pick up from the airport and taken to Lida Guest house. Also very easy to get around Prague either by the Metro, tram or walking from Lida. Josephine restaurant (recommendation from Jan) was fantastic - good value and great Czech food!
