4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

Just got home from 4 nights in this hotel. Positives -Mini bus pick up direct to the hotel and arriving in the dark for the first visit to Prague was great. Room 515 was spot on. Spotlessly clean. Huge bed. Big bathroom with shower only and plenty of hot water always available. Mini bar in the room but we didn't use it or the fridge. Kettle and cups but no coffee provided. There were a couple of teabags but we got some instant coffee sachets which did the job fine.
Bed linen was clean and fresh each day and towels also changed daily even when not needed.
Reception were very welcoming and helpful at all times.
Breakfast was the usual continental. Many different types of rolls , bread and croissants. Jams and honey and ham and cheese. Plain and fruit yogurts, fresh fruit and hot food included boiled eggs, baked beans , pasta, sweetcorn. There is a toaster which is great as long as people don't turn it so low it doesn't toast. Seats are not reserved and seemed to be busiest at around 9-9.15am.
Perfect area for us. Near a main bridge over to the castle but far enough away from the Old Town not to be expensive or rowdy.
Nightly visit to the Royal Cafe just across the road. Food was good and cheap as was the beer. Shame about the smokers.
Would recommend Hotel to anyone who can't be bothered with local transport. We walked everywhere and after a couple of days realised we were withing minutes from some of the best places Prague has to offer.

Room Tip: E mail the hotel with your requests. I had return mails within a few minutes and confirmed all our w...

Hotel is in a good position in the New Town area. All main attractions are within walking distance (approx 10 mins to Wenceslas Square). It is in a quiet street with a few restaurants and, although our room was facing the main street, we heard no noise (only the trams, but that wasn't a problem). The hotel is very clean and our room was huge! I think this was just luck, though, as we saw other rooms while they were being cleaned and they were a lot smaller (ours was room 303). The furniture is large, sturdy, old fashioned & very quaint. Our bed was enormous. The only qualm I had was that the shower head over the bath was not positioned on a long shower pole. It was hooked on a fitting low down, so washing hair was a challenge & the floor got very wet in the process! A small complaint, but would have expected better from a 4 star hotel. There is a small bar in the hotel, but was not used much. There was a tv in the corner & computers through the back with Internet access, but not much of an atmosphere, although there are so many bars in Prague that we only used it on arrival, so not much of an issue. There is free wifi throughout the hotel (including rooms), but it was very sporadic and was down more often than not. There is also a free safe in the room, which was a definite plus. The hotel does not do evening meals or snacks. Breakfast was ok, but not a lot of choice and the dining room is small for the size of the hotel. It is mainly continental (to be expected, I guess), with croissants, bread, ham & cheese being the main food on offer. There was a very limited choice of fresh fruit, it was mostly tinned. The breakfast was definitely the biggest disappointment for us. Prague is a beautiful city (if you ignore the graffiti which is everywhere). It is a bustling, vibrant place with plenty to see and do. We went on a bus tour and a boat trip. There are numerous shops, bars & restaurants and loads of street artists to look at. Be prepared to walk a lot! There are so many cobbled side streets to explore, away from the main tourist areas. This was our first visit to Prague and I hope it won't be our last. It is an amazing city and you won't regret going there. The Caesar Hotel was absolutely fine for our break ( 4 nights) and, to be honest, it is really just a base from where to explore. Most of our time was spent out & about and I would stay there again. If you are thinking about going to Prague - don't think. Just go!!

Me and my boyfriend stayed at this hotel for 4 nights (1-5 october). We had such a great time from the start! The free shuttle bus picked us up from the airport at 10 am, with a friendly driver who carried our suitcase. when we arrived it was something like 10.30am and we got checked in straight away and got our beautiful spacious room 3 and a half hours before we should have. Check in was meant to be at 2, so we were pleasantly surprised. We had a superior room that was big and spacious. I had emailed reception before our trip and asked for a double bed and a top room floor, which i was given. You are given a good supply of toiletries and even slippers and shoe shine. The breakfast had scrambled eggs, beans, bread rolls, pastries, fruit, yogurt etc, and i found this plentiful. Make sure you go to breakfast early, as we always went about 9, and was pretty crowded, but we were always so tierd from walking, that we had to get up late. I definetly felt this hotel was a lovely 4* and i would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a very enjoyable, comfortable stay.

Room Tip: If you want a double bed or top floor, just email them. They replied to me the same day and i got wh...

They don't have to provide airport transfer one way but they do. They don't have to give free wifi but they do. Location great - lots of nice pubs and restaurants. Hotel spotless , breakfast good and staff pleasant and helpful. I thoroughly recommend.

The hotel is only a few minutes walk from the Karlovo Namesti Metro station and a frequent tram runs along the street out front. You can walk to the main shopping/restaurant areas, Wenceslas Square or the Charles Bridge and all the main attractions are reachable by tram or Metro. It was nice to have the option of catching a tram back after a hard day's work as a tourist.

The reception is welcoming and the staff speak English. A city map is available and the staff were happy to give directions and advice.

Our 'Antique' room was spacious, quiet, clean and had all the amenities you expect. We couldn't get a double bed but the two singles were huge and they were comfortable. My wife loved the old fashioned furniture that tastefully decorated the room. We had a window to the street but there was no view as such (though we did spend time gazing down at the passing traffic).

The included breakfast was standard - some hot, some cold, not great, not bad. I found it odd that the hotel bar didn't serve a local brand of beer but it had a pleasant atmosphere. No other meals are served but there are many restaurants nearby with a large variety of styles. Finding genuine Czech food can be a challenge. The Vltava river is at the end of the street and we particularly enjoyed our summer evening strolls with the locals along its banks.

In all, the Hotel Ceasar is pretty much what you should expect for a mid-priced hotel and we would stay there again.

Handy location, very friendly staff - good English spoken. Reasonable sized rooms and storage, good not to have to step over open cases. Short walks to old city square and river, nice location if not completely central.

Chose this hotel on basis of price and reviews. We thought the hotel was perfectly adequate, a short walk into the centre of the city and by being a few minutes walk from the centre fairly quiet. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. Our room was large by UK hotel standards and had all the necessary amenities. The hotel provides a good breakfast with a limited variety of hot food but also an excellent choice of breads, cheese and cold meats, juices, coffee etc. There is not a restaurant for main meals but there is such a wide choice in Prague at very reasonable prices that this was irrelevant. A good little bar with comfortable seating. All in all I would recommend this hotel without reservation and will undoubtedly return in the future. We paid a total of £444 for flights and hotel for 4 nights for 2 people through Lastminute flying from Stanstead which we thought extremely reasonable. We used Prague Airport Transfers at a cost of £15 each way which worked extremely well and was booked on-line from UK. Additionally, we were given a very useful Prague guidebook and excellent city map as part of their service. Prague itself is the best city we have ever visited-absolutely fascinating with outstanding architecture and endless things to do and see. Lots of live music of all types being played in the streets. Food and drink is excellent and quite cheap by UK standards
