“European style luxury with a sophisticated Asian touch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2010

I stayed seven nights at this hotel alone and my experience with Alchymist was an intimate one. From the furnishings to the smile of the hotel staff, I can tell that the owner has a real passion for hospitality. That makes this hotel very different from the other luxury hotels in Prague. Alchymist has her own character, her own charm. I sincerely recommend this hotel to all Asian travellers, it would be an unforgettable reward for your long flight.

Delicious breakfast (only minus: the background music), nice, romantic, and elegant rooms, perfect service (daily chocolates on our beds :) ..... we can highly recommend a stay in this hotel. Walking distance to the city centre and to the castle: approx. 15 minutes.

My travel agent suggested that I stay instead of one of the larger branded hotels. It met all of my business requirements - location, communications, etc., but on top of that was a wonderfully different place to relax after the workday. The staff were superb, the hotel is beautiful, the food was incredible. I also enjoyed the daily complementary wine and cheese tasting. I look forward to my next stay.

first of all thank you for your time to writte about your stay here at the Alchymist Hotel. I am very happy to hear that even comming for the business trip you enjoyed it. Yes, our hotel as mentioned in many reviews is great for the romantic stays, but we have a large business clientele comming like individuals so for the events and conferences that are organised directly in the hotel. Of course the facilities to relax after work are a big plus. Thank you and looking forward to your next visit! Regards, Veronika Choteborska - General Manager

We stayed at the Alchymist for 3 wonderful nights at the end of March 2010. The decision to choose this hotel was made from TripAdvisor reviews and it was even better than expected, we were delighted when we arrived. The décor was beautiful, our room was perfect - the bed and pillows were really comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was delicious and the cheese and wine in the afternoons was an unexpected treat! We would highly recommend staying here as it is very close to Charles Bridge in a very quiet area. The hotel was definitely the highlight of our trip to Prague, it made it a very special and romantic break.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2010

I travelled to Prague with two friends for the weekend of 19th March. I had done some extensive research on Tripadvisor prior to booking Hotel Alchymist and was not disappointed! I had sent various e-mails to the hotel pre and post booking, negotiating pricing and querying various trips we were considering. All were answered promptly and helpfully, particularly by Milada. We chose to use the hotel airport pick up service which was well worth the extra cost and a very warm welcome was given by Peter the driver. The hotel itself is beautifully appointed, impeccably clean and is staffed by exceptionally polite and helpful individuals. We particularly liked the complimentary champagne, cheese and wine and the throat sweets offered to my friend who had lost her voice! We had a Junior Suite that consisted of a hallway, two bathrooms, a large bedroom/dining area and a twin bedroom up a small flight of stairs. The standard of the accommodation was superb. The hotel itself has good facilities with plenty of indoor and outdoor space to relax in. The spa is gorgeous, although the treatments looked quite expensive. We just used the pool and sauna as these were included as part of our package. We all enjoyed the breakfast in the sumptuous hotel dining room. There is a huge choice of both buffet and cooked to order dishes that I am certain would cater for all tastes.
I cannot recommend Hotel Alchymist highly enough. Do not hesitate, just book it and you will love it!

We stayed in this hotel at the end of March (room 308) and found it to be a very pretty and romantic hotel. We had the basic room which had a nice view of the church, a king size bed, a table with two chairs, a nice bathroom with soaking tub and excellent rain shower, bathroom anemities, robes, slippers and a nice comfortable bed and linens. Our room was very quiet. The staff were nice and polite. The breakfast was good and provided many choices, the small pool and dry sauna were nice (the wet sauna wasn't working in the womens section, so unfortunately I didn't get to use it - either that or they only had one wet sauna and it was for men only that night (as I was told by the attendant (8:00pm on 3/27). The hotel is located in a great area of Prague, not too loud and touristy, pretty streets, close to the Charles Bridge and church etc. The free wine/cheese in the afternoon was a nice touch. The hotel itself is very pretty. Only one thing - if you ask for a recommendation for an italian restaurant they will tell you to go to Peklo. I do not recommend Peklo. We didn't eat at the restaurant in the hotel -but judging by the breakfast I believe it would have been good. I do highly recommend a restaurant near there called 'cafe de paris' for french food. Also, the free business center with computers with web access and a printer was great to have when it came time to print our boarding passes and check email.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and am very glad that we stayed there.

Thank you for your nice comments about us. I am very happy to read that you found your room pretty and your stay was pampered by different ameninities and extras we are offering. As I mentioned in my previous posts, hotel is located in a very prominent and quiet side of the historical city centre still very close to the Charles bridge and famous Prague palaces and churches. Regading the restaurant selection, there is plenty of choice to cater for all the requests. From traditional Czech Restaurants and pubs, to International and trendy places. I hope to welcome you back in the near future. Regards, Veronika Choteborska – General Manager

We had a special weekend to celebrate my wife's birthday. The hotel is excellent, the room we stayed in was spatious, comfortable and beautiful. We enjoyed the sauna and the plunge pool, and my wife had a great Thai massage. The hotel is decorated in a quirky unique style, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Pure bliss. The location of the hotel couldn't be better, an easy walk to the main sights in old town, and a brief brisk walk up to the castle. Lots of good restaurants nearby.
