“Paradise Stay at New Year”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

We picked our stay carefully at the Alchymist Hotel and Spa after seeing the pictures and reviews of the Hotel, However I must admit that the reality and experiance of this Hotel is by far more wondurful than pictures posted in sights. We stayed for 5 nights at a beautiful Junior Suite decorated with classic antique furnitures that includes a four Poster Bed and Cristal chandelier with a classic old baroque mirrors which gives you the feeling of being back to old days of Barouque days. Our stay was during the New Year celebration which was so special in Prague with all its celebrations and lovely fire works lighting out the sky. I must mention that the atmosphere of this hotel is somthing and the staff of the Hotel is another impecable issue , from Front office staff and their FO manager Mr. Ahmed , to bellmens who were very professional and helpful, as well as all the service staff at the Aquarious Restaurant on Breakfast and dinner all were very professional , We also had twice a nice spa massage and sauna which you must try during your stay . I thank you all so much we enjoyed our stay and definetly it will always be a wonerful memorable one that we would love to repeat it again.

Room Tip: Room 216 is a beatiful Junior Suite you should try with its 4 Poster bed and cristal chandelier

This hotel is right in the center of old Prague; less than 15 minute walk from the Charles Bridge in one direction or from the castle in the other direction. It is a top drawer facility and priced as such.
Two issues if you drive here: 1) it is only about 50 feet from the American embassy so when you get close, the police stop you and inspect your vehicle; 2) parking is costly (apx $42USD per night).

That being said, this hotel is gorgeous and the service is impeccable. In late afternoon there is wine & cheese in a beautifully ornate lounge. Breakfast is wonderful and served in the lovely dining room. We had one dinner there. Even though it was near the end of service time and we ordered simple meals, the food was delicious and we were not rushed.

This is definitely a special place we would love to visit again.

I booked the romantic package that this hotel offers for my partner - it was a 40th birthday gift.

Our stay was marvelous. We regularly stay in hotels through business and pleasure and have never seen such a lovely interior, it is simply magical. From the greeting when we arrived to the room and the service. We could not fault this hotel at all. The staff are wonderfully helpful and the spa is excellent - I booked a Jessica manicure and even that was brilliant.

I would urge anyone to book this hotel - the daily happy hour with wines and cheeses was an ideal way to relax too.

We can't wait to return one day soon! Thank you Grand Alchymist for making our stay in beautiful Prague even more special!

Where can I begin to describe the wonderful experience we had at Alchymist grand hotel and spa? We stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of January and from beginning to end it was immaculate. The reception staff were very nice and helpful with good English . Breakfast was very good - tasty, fresh and with good choice. The decor was very beautiful , with every corner taken care of. Very detail is thought of.
The spa was out of this world. Both beauty and professionalism. I have visited a few spas around the world, and this was by far the best. I would advice to take the spa package with 8 hours of treatments, that will take 5 years off of your age and 5 tons off of your back (it did for me). Every one was very kind and professional , especially Jana who gave me a manicure and facial. The only thing I didn't like we're the pillows, and the fact that I asked the maid to bring me another pillow and she didn't.
If you go to Prague this is the hotel to stay in, definitely!

Hotel concierge: average. The decoration of the hotel is particular and interesting. Good location

Room: no kettle, no tea, no coffee in room. Deluxe room is rather small. Safe box is a joke (no easy access, no light, no electrical plug Inside, no usual standard...). our bathroom window was directly in the corridor (sic).

TV: no hotel interface, low tech, low resolution, small TV set. No international channels, no movies channels, and many wires pending.

Breakfast: nice standard, no local Czech food, identical every day

Restaurant: quality varies according to the chosen dish. Avoid desserts.

Small swimming pool in a cave.

It is for us between 3.5 to 4 max.

Room Tip: you may avoid rooms 110, 307

The staff at the Alchymist is fabulous. From the welcoming glass of bubbly as you check in, to the wonderful breakfast, to the beautiful room, and first class service, it was all great and made my stay in Prague very memorable.

After arriving tired and foot sore from a day exploring Prague or working, you are met with wine and cheese in a lovely warm and convivial atmosphere a perfect way to end your day.
The beds were comfortable, the decor opulent, the spa was delightful and the whole experience couldn't have been better.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough, they really make you feel special and so very welcome.

Room Tip: The excutive rooms are very nice, and give you a very special experience
