We had a rough start with Pachtuv Palace, around the summer when our booking took place, but after long emailing, management took the initiative, and not only corrected all problems, but also upgraded us to one of their best rooms. So, thumbs up for the management (even after a while)!

Regarding the hotel, it is located in one of the central areas of the city, something that helped us, having a baby, to be able to come back at any time in the day, and continue after, having no loss of time. The building is old but renovated, luxurious and good tasted. A little tricky at first going in and out from the building, but before we left we didn't mind at all.

Our room (405) was very big, had a corner view, and for our great surprise, all the fireworks show on the 1st of the year took place right outside of our window, so we enjoyed it with a glass of wine, without having to scare the baby by going out into the crowd!

The reception was really helpful and kind, they would solve (or do their best to solve) any problem we might have, and they were also kind enough to give good advice about shopping and eating.

For us, only issue was the restaurant, we found the breakfast not equivalent to the pricing (therefore we skipped) and we found it a bit strange that room service had extra charging. But this does not remove one single star (we just ate outside) from the quality of the hotel.

Thank you and hope to see you again!

Room Tip: Any room with a river view is worth it. We had 405, that had the benefit of the corner window, howev...

Dear Guest,

thank you for sharing your feedback on the Tripadvisor. I trully appreciate your time you took to do so.

I apologize for the rough start but am glad everything was sorted out to your satisfaction.

Thank you for your positive comments regarding our staff members and your room. I do agree, the view of the fireworks on the 1st had to be amazing from your room. I am glad you could enjoy it in the privacy while your baby was sound asleep.

Thank you for your constructive criticism of the restaurant breakfast offer. I will discuss it with the restaurant owner and we will try to find solution to prevent dissatisfaction of our guests.

I hope to welcome you back soon,

With kind regards,

Lucie

We spent several days here just before Christmas. The staff were friendly and helpful, and our suite was gorgeous, with an amazing view of the castle and St Vitus Cathedral. The hotel is ideally located, near Charles Bridge, Old Town, New Town, and public transportation links are nearby. Highly recommended!

We stayed in this hotel over New Years and it was perfect. I stayed with my family of 6 and we had a 2 bedroom suite. The only issue with the suite was that we had 2 bathrooms (2 showers and 2 bath tubs) but we only had 1 toilet. The room had a nice living room area and kitchen. The location was perfect. We were able to watch the fireworks right in the front of the hotel. The hotel was walking distance to just about anything you would want to see in the city.

Our spacious and comfortable room offered a splendid view on Charles Bridge and the castle: excellent location for discovering Prague on a winter weekend! Very warm welcome by reception team in a beautiful living-room atmosphere. Our room was ready before noon! Excellent recommendations for restaurants, sightseeing and concerts: we enjoyed all of that! And the best personal service and thoughtfulness of the staff was proven by a bottle of sparkling wine with a nice greeting card for my wife's birthday put in our room when we were strolling thorough Prague. When back in Prague we will certainly revisit this beautiful hotel!!

I am happy to learn you enjoyed your stay at Pachtuv Palace. It is great we fullfilled your expectations.

We are always pleased when guests book our hotel for a special occasion and we are honored to be part of it. The little giftt for your wife´s birthday was the least we could do.

Your comments regarding staff members mean a lot and I will definitely share it with all of them.

I hope to welcome you back soon!

We stayed for 4 nights over the Thanksgiving holiday. It was our first trip to Prague and I had chosen the Pachtuv Palace because it had the best deal directly from its website among the near-luxury hotels in Prague. We flew in at nighttime and so we had emailed reception in advance to order us an airport transfer. That worked seamlessly because our driver was waiting in the airport meeting hall after we disembarked. Coming to the hotel at night made it a bit difficult to get a sense of its proportions and grandeur. The lobby was not a grand reception room that I expected but a few connected rooms with lots of seating and the reception was a desk instead of the typical hotel counter. We much prefer desks because it lets you sit down like a civilized human being after a long trip and check-in. The receptionist/hotel manager checked us in and went through a brief overview of Prague & touristy options to get us acquainted. We had booked a junior suite but the hotel kindly upgraded us to a full bi-level apartment which initially really excited Bun & I. The apartment was very large and had 2 bedrooms and a small kitchen. Unfortunately, the bedrooms and full bathroom were on the attic level where wooden beams make movement a bit tricky if you're tall. Also, the full bathroom was settled against the slanted roof so the bathtub did not have much head clearance for you to stand & shower. Even Bun, who's well under 5'4'', could not shower properly. So sadly the following morning, we had to call reception and ask to have our room changed. It took them about 30 minutes and then they found us a regular junior suite that fitted us fine. Our junior suite was about 400 sq foot and gave us plenty of room to unwind. We got to see the hotel grounds more clearly in the daytime. The hotel is pretty but not lavishly elegant especially when it calls itself a "Palace". In truth we were not expecting a top-level 5 star luxury property, so everything was acceptable to us. We slept decently. The location of the property was excellent for a quick jaunt over to the castle and also very close to the main center square.
We booked the nightly rate with breakfast. The breakfast selection was limited to mostly cold cuts, canned fruits (& some fresh fruits) and breads, although there was warm scrambled eggs available. Breakfast didn't knock our socks off so you might be better off forgoing the breakfast inclusive rate at the hotel.

Room Tip: The hotel is 3 levels -- ground floor and 1st & 2nd floor. Your best bet is the 1st floor rooms...

Dear Guest,

I sincerely appreciate your feedback regarding your recent stay with us which you posted on the Tripadvisor.

I will share your feedback with our hotel taxi drivers and reception. I am glad you enjoyed their services. I appreciate your comment regarding the checkin. We always make the checkin as personable as possible, with chair to sit and glass of wine after a long flight. We aim to make our guests to feel at home right away.

I am sorry the first room didnt meet your expectations but it is good to find out you were satisfied with the second one. Thank you for your comment regarding the breakfast, I will share it with the hotel manager and try to find other options to make everyone happy.

I hope I will have the opportunity to welcome you back at Pachtuv Palace in the future.

with kind regards,

Lucie Dagan

We booked a Junior Suite (room 204), spacious, looked superb, high ceilings, top furnishings, four poster, separate kitchen.
Staff were friendly, efficient and very welcoming (including glass of bubbly)
Some terrific sculpture in the garden and prints all about and overall the building was a visual treat too
Location next to Charles Bridge makes in completely convenient
Close to Skool restaurant which was also good
