It seems like there are two categories of hotels in Prague - budget or very expensive. Because this hotel was rated so highly by TripAdvisor, and because they promised us an air conditioned room, I chose to stay at the Bohemia Plaza. The location is good - walking distance to most historical sights. We stayed in Room #19 in the attic which is a good sized room and very clean. We did however experience a series of disappointments. When we arrived at 9PM, it was quite warm outside and the air conditioning was not working in our room. There was a young girl at the reception desk who was very unhelpful and really didn't seem to care to help us with the air conditioning. We paid an additional 7 Euro for the buffet breakfast which was supposed to be served from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. On our first morning, we arrived to breakfast at 9:45 a.m. to find that there was hardly any food left aside from some dry cereal and white bread. The staff was indifferent and basically told us to come earlier the next day. Breakfast the next few days continued to be very disappointing and definitely not worth the 7 euro. The towels in the bathroom were so worn and discolored, they looked like rags. On our last morning, having a train to make we requested a specific wake up call. The call came 15 minutes late which totally threw us off schedule.
Bohemia Plaza Residence is a good value for the money and worthwhile considering. However, do not expect any personal service. By the way, the air conditioning was fixed on our second day but broke down again on the third day. So, don't choose this hotel because you want an air conditioned room in Prague.
