I stayed with my grandaughter at the hotel from the 17th till the 20th of Dec.First class hotel in every possible way from the pick up from the airport to the lovely suite which they kindly upgraded us to overlooking the Tyn church . The breakfast was amazing including hot and cold options , duck, veal, homemade pastries I could go on and on .catreena and in fact all of tge staff could not have been any more courteous or helpful. The hotel has a classy old world beauty its just exquisite , right on the doorstep of the most beautiful part of the city we were made to feel very welcome indeed .It was my grandaughters first time abroad and she was very impressed she will not have many future travel experiences as good as this one .Thankyou so much to the staff , I cant recommend the hotel highly enough

My husband and I stayed at the Ventana hotel for 6 nights in early Oct 2014. This small boutique hotel was a big contributing factor in our wonderful Prague experience. The room was beautifully but simply appointed, and the bed was so comfortable! The views from our corner room were incredible (the main square with all it's activities and the church profiled in the light). Location was perfect. The breakfast was delicious with a huge variety of fare and I miss it today! The staff were the best group of tourist friendly and helpful people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. They went beyond my expectations to accommodate requests for dining, transportation, and excursion suggestions and even picked up train tickets for us. Patrick and Caterina are exemplary. Kudos to all the staff. Our best wishes for your continued success!

Room Tip: Ask for the corner room one floor above the dining facilities.

Choose this hotel for its location and recommendations. It is extremely well situated, a short walk to The Clock Tower, but very quiet. Extremely friendly and hospitable staff, who also collected and returned us to the Airport. I had a large spacious room on 3rd floor with a sofa and large bathroom. The other room was slightly smaller. Breakfasts are very good. Very convenient location to walk to /from and the main Square, which is very buzzy, but Hotel fortunately very quiet. I booked direct with Hotel. Faultless and enjoyable stay.

We booked a Deluxe King Loft room through Expedia for a Long Weekend in December to sample the Christmas Markets and do a bit of sight seeing. We will definitely be back and will certainly use Ventana again.

First, the bad: Upon arrival, or room hadn't been booked due to an error on the hotels part :( We had to settle for a "regular" double for the first night before they could get us into the correct room(luckily they had a room available!), but were premised an upgrade to a Junior Suite the following night for the strain of our stay. We were a little dissapointed after a days travel but were pleasantly surprised to find the standard double a luxurious & spacious room any way - more than enough for us any how. However the hotel had promised us an upgrade, but the next day we were shown to a Deluxe Loft (our original room!) We weren't to fussed with this though and I think it was down to minor lack of communication between hotel staff. We could have complained more, but it was a simple mistake really. I will probably contact Expedia to get a small refund on the first night as we technically didn't get what we paid for although we didn't feel particularly short changed.

Anyway, on to the Good: Everything else! :) The staff were friendly and helpful, the Deluxe Loft (Room 41) was brilliant and had a view (from the stairs, granted) of the incredible Tyn Cathedral. Waking up to the sound of the bells on Sunday was very memorable. Mini bar was reasonable prices by EU capital city standards and the dry cleaning service was fat and cheap (Kc 270 / £8). Location wise it really couldn't be any better if you are going to Prague to see the Old Town. All major sights are in easy waking distance, it's right on the Old Town Square for the Christmas Markets etc - literally couldn't be better. The hotel is a lovely quiet haven in the middle of such a bustling area. Breakfast is a good standard, the bar/lounge/breakfast room is tranquil and airy with nice views of Tyn Cathedral. Would be nice to have a restaurant I suppose but there is little need with Prague and all it's great food/drink right on your doorstep.

Note: Our private hotel transfer was booked through Expedia too (using Grey Line taxi). From the airport to the hotel it was in a brand new BMW 6 Series with a very professional driver who pulled up the weekends weather on the sat nav for us etc and was a very sophisticated experience. The trip back was in a mini bus (still just the two of us!) with no seatbelts and luggage just placed on the spare seats! We got there safe enough but it was a bizarre contrast. I have a feeling the first trip wasn't really with Grey Line but I didn't note the company name - unfortunate as we'd definitely use them again!

To sum up: Excellent hotel, well appointed with helpful staff and in the ultimate location. Priced below its standard in my view and would easily pass as a high 4* in UK or France.

The hotel and pick up service from the airport was very very good. Breakfast is nice and the selection is not bad at all. The upper rooms definitely needs more windows. Heating was sufficient but a little noisy.

It will be hard to stay anywhere else when we go back to Prague. We had a loft room on the top floor that was beautiful with tons of space. We could see the Christmas tree from our window! The bathroom is modern, clean, and big. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. This was the most perfect location for our first time trip to Prague and for enjoying the Christmas markets. Breakfast was great too. Perfect stay! Only problem we had was working the heat, had to keep our window open!

Room Tip: Ask for the loft rooms!
