“Location and budget price save this hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2012 via mobile

This hotel is far from luxurious, the rooms had a very 'hostelly' feel to them, we had booked a double/twin room but it was basically just two small single beds pushed together with separate mattresses, not impressed! The room was far too hot even after we had opened a window and turned off the radiators! It was quite uncomfortable for me to sleep in.

The breakfast was quite tasty, sausages and eggs with toast and some teas/coffee/OJ.

However it was the location which saved this otherwise shabby hotel. A 5 minute walk to the old square and Charles' Bridge, you could not wish for better! We found it very easy to pop back now and then to take the weight off our feet during our 3 day stay.

For couples on a budget this hotel is very highly recommended. However if it's luxury and high quality customer service you want steer clear.

The rooms are reasonably clean and the staff tries hard. However, the matresses are uncomfortable (you can feel the springs), the phones in the rooms don't work and during my stay, neither of the 2 computers downstairs worked so I had to go to an internet cafe to check my e-mail. The restaurant downstairs is very smoky and the smoke permeates the entire ground floor, including the supposedly non-smoking sitting room.

Very nice hotel. Ales at the front desk was extremely polite and made us feel welcome. We had a beautiful room with bath ,kitchen and coffee pot. The room was clean and the maid cleaned every day. Restaurant was yummy but breakfast was not the greatest....no bacon with the eggs. I will come back here on my next holiday to Prague. You will not be disappointed here..... if you want clean rooms and to be close to everything. Christmas markets were beautiful. The lady at the desk arranged a two hour tour which was well worth the price.

Room Tip: We were above the breakfast area.....kinda noisy. Ask for a room in the back away from main street.

Perfect location: just few minutes walk from tram stop, metro stop, Karl Bridge and in the heart of old town.
You will get good very clean room with bed, table and TV.
Hotel is big and always little noisly.
During breakfats time you will never find free table... too many clients...
There is free wi-fi and 2 free computers at reception,

In the same building there is very nice restaurant - original beer and food and very cheap))) That street doesn't popular for tourists and all priceses in nearest bars/cafes/restaurants most cheap in old town.

A really nice hotel for a short break in the city. The location is great with easy access to all the main sights. The room was big, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was nice and clean with great shower pressure. Breakfast was good also. The restaurant below the hotel served delicious food with great cheap prices.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend.

Room Tip: Try to ask for a room at the back of the hotel as the street out front can be somewhat noisy with ca...

The location of this hotel is unbeatable. Located in Praha 1, you can access most of the tourist attractions of Prague by foot if you are game for walking. Otherwise too, the trams and buses are within easy reach to take you anywhere.

Residence Bologna is a no-frills regular abode for people who don't want to pay too much, yet want to stay in a central location in this expensive city. The rooms are very basic. We were given a suite (without any special request) with an attached kitchen. Not sure if you'd need to use the kitchen. The furniture is as ordinary as it can get, very old styled television set with not even a single English channel. The hotel and the rooms have a very dated feel to it. It must have been someone's residence many years back. One of the ladies at the front desk is very spunky and friendly. The bar is also reasonably well equipped. They have free wifi but there seemed to be connection issues for us. You can come downstairs to use the hotel computer, freely accessible to residents.

The complimentary breakfast was bit of a downer. Once you enter you will be excited to see the huge spread of cakes and other sweet bakery items kept on the first table. But none of it, really none of it is good to taste....most of them are in fact inedible...quite a disaster I would say. The best item offered is the chocolate muesli. Rest is regular stuff- plenty of juice, tea and coffee, fruits and breads.

The hotel has some decent restaurants including a nice Indian place called Tikka Tikka in the vicinity to help you with your dining needs.

This was a great choice for a one day trip to Prague, low budget, close to city center:
- close to the city center (10-15 min o slow walk on the streets of the old town, easy to reach from the airport (bus 119 at 32czk available 1:30 hours on any line including metro, then metro A line 4 stations, get off at Mustek station (the Muzeum stop is closer, but closed until 2014), get up at surface to Narodni street, walk to the hotel max 10 min)
- quiet, pleasant area, with minimarket very close; you can hear pretty well from one room to another
- helpful and very nice staff
- pleasant design and furniture, a little bit old but acceptable
- rooms from double to apartment with kitchen and livingroom (very good for a family - but the coaches are not so confortable)
- pretty clean (the sheets were almost impecable... and there were some stains on the WC - not dirty but old stains - innaceptable)
- good, large elevator
- acceptable breakfast (the yogurt is very good, otherwise omlet, sousages, cereals, cheese and ham, gem and cofee/tea/juice)
- check-in 2pm, check-out 11am
-the heat was on in the middle of October - very good!

Room Tip: Pay attention to the blanket on the beds - in a 3 beds room there was one good blanket and 2 very th...
