“Great tapas - shame about the paella”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

La Terrassa is a long boat moored on the Vlatava. The windows to one side (could be port or starboard but I can’t remember which end was the bow ) have a good view of the river, the other is a view of the lock and so large boats pass close by.
The interior of La Terrassa is clean and modern. It was a cold evening but the place was warm, which must be difficult to manage on a boat.
Our waitress was friendly. There was some confusion about the wine list; our waitress advised that the list was being re-written and many of the wines were unavailable. So in the end we just took her recommendation.
The tapas were delicious and good-sized portions for tapas.
The seafood paella (which must be ordered when booking so they have time to prepare it) arrived. All 8/9 mussels in the paella were closed; 5 firmly the rest just open a few mm. We complained to the waitress, who I'm not sure realised that mussels are supposed to be closed when fresh and open when cooked - but then that isn't so much her responsibility as the chef, who shouldn't have let the dish leave the kitchen. We were brought a plate of newly-cooked (and open) mussels. We ate the rest of the paella, minus the closed mussels, but it did leave us worrying about what effect it may have later - we were fine.
With so many great places to choose from in Prague, I doubt we’d go again for dinner. I’d be tempted to go for a tapas lunch in the summer.

“"I travel to romantis..."”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

Originally we were going to Jazz Dock. But there was some Spanish music heard from the island, so we decided to visit this wonderful restaurant, opened a few months ago. What can I say? Great atmosphere, warm and friendly staff (what is very unusual in Prague) and the best meat (chuleton de buey) we’ve ever had in life. We came over there again next day but it was fully occupied, so we were waiting for a table at a little terrace upstairs with a glass of red wine: a gorgeous view of the river, it was very romantic…. This time we ordered only a dessert – foam goat cheese – fantastic! This place doesn’t seem to be tourist one, we had the feeling that the owner knew every guest coming and personally welcomed him with a glass of champagne. We definitely recommend!

“Excellent baked "Lubina al sal"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012

If the waiter didn’t tell us that today’s special “Lubina al sal” was a sea fish we would think that it had just been fished out of the river that surrounds this nice restaurant. Very tender, baked in salt Lubina was the best fish dish that my boyfriend and I have recently eaten, and what is curious – in Prague. The waiter had accurately cut it into fillet, grilled cherry tomatoes were very juicy, delicious. The best gastronomy on our trip in Central Europe.

Très bonne adresse à retenir!

“Spanish island in the middle of Prague”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Had a great evening after work with a couple of friends! Very relaxing and cozy place - delicious food and friendly atmosphere makes you forget where you are:) Debonair and carefree as Spanish are. The combination of various Tapas and good wine made us immediately feel better. The good thing is you can come to this place also alone and you won't feel lonely or bored - excellent food, Spanish light music, candels, attentive waiters and great view outside the big windows will help you to enjoy your time for sure!

“Great view and location, food so-so and service very poor”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012 via mobile

You get to sit right beside river near a roaring weir and watch boats go by. The ambience is very nice, the whole place is very nicely done, much pleasanter than the usual tourist haunts along river.

The food lets it down though. The tapas are very bland, octopus is without taste, potatoe tortilla served stone cold, Mediterranean salad very limp. God were the jamons and beefs, full of flavour, even though all that was requird of them was to be sliced. Mussels are ok, sauce is rich but nothing special. Didn't try any of the main courses however.

Would advise that if you go with children be careful not to order pasta dishes. The tomato sauce is incredibly sweet, not edible for children unless you've been raising them on chocolate diet.

Service is fairly disorganised and a bit slow, but they are polite. Bread and water brought fairly regularly.
