“Lovely, high-quality base for exploring Prague”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

Situated just behind the Charles Bridge a short distance south of the Old Town Square (but far enough away from the busiest tourist areas), this is a great location from which to explore this wonderful city and all its sights. There are lots of narrow winding streets and squares to explore nearby and it's hard to imagine a better place to be, to be honest.

The hotel itself is lovely... It has a bright, modern feel (& a nice outdoor courtyard terrace) but is in a classic old building on a quiet, cobbled lane. Many rooms overlook the River Vltava and the Castle District of Hradcany up on the hill. Breakfasts are huge and tasty, with enormous choice from lots of buffet tables, and the restaurant looks lovely (though we didn't eat there during our stay).

The rooms are well-equipped, modern and comfortable (at least ours was), there is free wifi and the staff are friendly, too. Tomas the General Manager and Marika (Sales Manager?) in particular, were very welcoming and friendly.

All in all, a great place to stay and hard to beat if you're coming to Prague and want a good-quality hotel,

Room Tip: Get a room with a river view if you can...

Dear Jack,

Me and my team are thrilled you had a great time at our boutique hotel in Prague. I am excited you find us friendly and welcoming as well. As you said, I find the River View suites also very nice, the view of Prague Castle and Vltava River you get is definitely something special.

Thank you for your kind notes and all the best!

This is a first rate hotel in an excellent postion to explore the town. But on top of all this is the friendliness and desire to give service which all members of staff seem to have. e.g. only one pillow was supplied for each of us in our room so we requested two more - they arrived within 5 minutes. Why don't more establishments realise it is this kind of service which builds a reputation.? The breakfasts are plentiful, good variety and frequently replenished. We only had dinner there on our first night as we like to eat out when abroad, but the meal was beautifully cooked and presented. I saw one earlier review complaining about taxi services - you don't need a taxi as everywhere is walkable. And when you get to Prague Airport, buy a 72 hour pass (less than 10 pounds sterling) valid for all metro, trams, buses and even the funicular railway. You can get to the hotel on this ticket in about 45 minutes. Well done Leonardo - you have a great team there!

We stayed at Hotel Leonardo for only one night but wish we could have stayed on. We had to transfer to the Hilton as part of our river cruise package but would have preferred to stay on at Hotel Leonardo. This hotel is in a great location, so close to the many beautiful sights of the old town of Prague a city we fell in love with. Every corner you turned was like a story book. The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming and we loved our loft type room . The facilites at the hotel were excellent and we had a lovely dinner in the restaurant and breakfast the next morning was very enjoyable. Could not fault the Hotel Leonardo in anyway.

We had a wonderful time in Prague at the Leonardo Prague Hotel in a beautiful decorated room, the lovely terrace had a peaceful atmosphere where we enjoyed the nice barbecue on Friday evening and breakfast on Saterday and Sunday morning.

We would like to thank the staff for the warm welcome and special personalised service that made this first trip to Prague a unique experience.

The Hotel has a very good location and is on walking distance of all the important historical parts of the City.

The Leonardo Prague Hotel will be the Hotel of our choice on a next trip.

I sat with my wife in early July. location is right in the center, the famous bridge at 3 min and 10 min to the old town. I stayed on the 3rd floor in an attic room, very large, clean , bathroom with shower, air conditioning. Entered the door I encountered some difficulties, should be checked when you leave the room, we left it open :), but without any one incident. Overall a nice hotel, quiet, where you worth spend your holiday !

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2012 via mobile

Stayed at the Leonardo Prague hotel for two nights in July.  This was my fifth visit to Prague. Ive chosen different hotels every time, but always wanting to be close to the Old Town.  This hotel is in an excellent location, on a quiet street just a few minutes from the Old Town side of Charles Bridge.

The room was at the top of the hotel, set over two floors.  Bathroom and kitchenette on the first and two twin beds on a mezzanine level.  Both the hotel and room were clean and modern.  The two negatives of the room were the temperature and the head-banging. The air con kept the lower level cool but the area with the beds was very hot, even with the supplied fan on.  The second was the number of times I banged my head on low ceilings and exposed beams (more a fault of my own than of the hotel though!).  The breakfast was nice, especially as you could eat outside in a courtyard.  The hotel had free wi-fi.

All of the staff were friendly and helpful, especially the guy at check-out who asked a favour, "please write a review on Tripadvisor", he asked; well here it is!

Overall I would recommend staying at this hotel and would consider it again.

Thank you very much for your constructive comments. I love to hear you had fun with us in Prague, but I am sorry to hear about your head. I know the stairs in those rooms are not perfect and we will try to add some signs or do something with them in the next round of renovations by the end of the Year!

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Leonardo last week. Great hotel, location, staff. Everyone was very helpful and pleasant. Had a great room on the river, it was large with a wonderful view and was air conditioned. We arrived by car and we were very happy by the time we arrived to give the car to the valet for safe parking. The breakfast was very good with a very nice selection. Would definitely recommend.

Room Tip: "On the river if possible"
