“Pleasant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2012

We arrived in hotel Petr late at night and check-in was a breeze. For the price I think it's fairly decent and although it's very old style and you can imagine it must have looked slightly grim during communist times it's spotless and well maintained. Breakfast is reasonable, enough stuff to sustain you for sightseeing. It's about 15-20 minutes walk into town and late at night we had bit of trouble finding places that were open around the area. The location isn't bad but I had my parents with me who had trouble walking so if you have elderly companions with you it's best to get public transport from the hotel tot he centre. There is a park next to the hotel which was a nice touch and the tesco nearby is handy.

We spent 4 nights at this hotel while visiting Prague. The hotel is one of the best values in Prague: the price was very reasonable; the rooms were clean and quiet with adequate space; the breakfast was very good with a nice selection of items; the staff and service was excellent; it's location is close to public transportation and several tourist sites.

This is really a B&B but very comfortable, good location and excellent staff. Breakfast very good. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone. Two nights. Great dinners at nearby pubs. Took the Grand Tour of Prague, above average but not outstanding. Prague is a beautiful city and has much history of interest.

Stayed for six nights, a very pleasant experience with good breakfast, tasteful rooms and responsive staff. Slightly out of the main tourist area but only a couple of stops away by tram.

We stayed at hotel Petr for a weekend get away in Prague last month.

The hotel was clean, very roomy, located very close to some of Prague's great landmarks. The hotel lies within walking distance of the Charles bridge and the castle. Tram stops are a short two minute walk and some authentic Czech restaurants are near the area as well.

The hotel is found on a quiet street. The breakfast was standard European fare -- nothing special but meets expectations.

Overall a great stay away from the touristy areas, yet close enough to public transportation to get you where ever you would like...

And at a reasonable price.

Excellent accommodations - cozy and comfortable rooms, warm and hospitable staff, all the amenities one might need, plus fabulous (and quiet) location on the south edge of Mala Strana.

I stayed at the Hotel Petr in Lesser Town in Prague with the Road Scholar program from Oct 23-30.
Our gracious host, Tomas, whose family owns the hotel, was everything one could want - a perfect host.
Both Tomas and anyone at the front desk were most helpful in providing information and assistance for any request of sites to visit, how to get there, and recommendations for restaurants in the area. As part of the Road Scholar program he even gave us a wonderful morning talk on his experiences growing up in Communist Prague and then the process of starting a business when Prague was freed from Communist rule. He shared so much and made it so interesting that you really got the feeling of what life was like during those times.

The hotel itself was typical European with amenities like TV, (only SKY News in English), desk, chair, luggage rack, small table, small bed side furniture with drawer and night light, refrigerator, "in room" coffee & tea with hot water maker.

The bathroom had a shower, hair dryer, and even a towel drying rack! There was a large wooden ______ to put all your clothers on hangers or shelves. You may rent a safe in the room. (It was included in Road Scholar program.) Also 3 hooks for hanging clothers or coats. Convenient light switches too.
The hotel is within easy walking distance of Most Legii, the bridge below Charles Bridge (Karlov Most) from which one has a great view of Charles Bridge. You can walk to the tram stop in 3 minutes and to the metro stop in about 7 minutes.
Breakfast is conveniently served from 7:30 - 10:30 am and is a buffet that consists of breads (rye, rolls, croissants, pastries) and butter, cold cuts (a variety of hams, salami, cheeses), cereals (3 types), yoghurt (plain and strawberry), tomatoes, cucumbers, orange juice, a machine that you individually choose various hot drinks, (cappucino, latte, regular, chocolate, hot water). They have both regular and herbal teas. Oh and each day an egg offering of either soft boiled or scrambled etc. Also European style sausage.
Free internet on your own device or use a computer at the bar or behind the desk to print out your boarding pass. They can also get you tickets to most concerts and put the cost on your hotel bill.
I am sure I forgot something but I do recommend this hotel for all the reasons above.
