First time alone in a city I did not know, first time in a hostel : what a good surprise ! The Staff was very helpful, giving you all the informations you want or need. The basement was wonderful (I loved its atmosphere). The roomwas clean, lighted and really great, even for 10 persons. The Wi-fi was fast and you can have it every where in the building. One thing is sure : when I will go back to Prague, I will choose this hostel again !!

The hostel staff was so welcoming and helpful. The room was very cozy and clean and we had our own bathroom which was great! The in-room wifi didn't always work but the wifi in the lobby always worked fine. The breakfast was a great start to the day with only 5 euros you get an unlimited breakfast buffet. Overall a great experience!

Sir Toby's is clean and modern and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. They give each guest a free beer in the pub downstairs, which is a nice calm place to relax. It's a tram ride away from the old town, but I liked being outside the bubble, especially since central Prague is exceedingly touristy.
Before buying a transit pass, ask at the front desk about renting one from them. The prices are much cheaper.

This hostel really has something different from others, starting by it's crew, they are amazing.
Just after we get in the hostel and check in, a very very friendly girl took a city map and explained to us all trams and buses that could be used to reach city main attractions and how it works regarding passes and times. This first introduction to Prague helps a lot, and also makes you feel that the people at the hostel really want to help you enjoy your stay at Prague as much as they can.

There are no subways close to the hostel, but it's pretty easy to reach it by a tram. When arriving, if you come by train, do not take any cabs on the station, go to the tourist center and ask for one. Taxi drivers in prague are not reliable, they treat you as an idiot asking 30 euros for a quick run that you gonna pay 8-9 if scheduled by the tourist center. We payed 8 Euros for a run from the main train station to the hostel.

The rooms are very clean as the washrooms, and I think that's the essential part since you just sleep and take a shower at the hostel. If you manage to get a room with a private washroom, for sure you gonna feel just like if you where in a hotel.

The all you can eat breakfast it's usefull when you are out of options.
There's free wi-fi on the place but the signal is not that good and connection not that fast but works.

There are 3 computers that you can use for free too but they are really really slow. For sure it helps for an emergency as buying online tickets or something like that, but this could be improved ;)

The hostel also offers a laundry service, where you pay 10 Euro to they wash a basket of dirty clothes - you can do it yourself too if you prefer. I used the service and that was fine for me.

To sum up - Very good experience, would come back for sure and also would recommend the place ;)!

This was a great hostel with really friendly people. Do not doubt the hostel AT ALL. Great facilities and bar.

..only the location. It wasn't too bad...caught the tram in and generally cabbed it home (very cheap).

But still...we were a group of young travellers getting blind so if it was more central it wouldve been more desirable.

Yeah, I know: geezers aren't who usually stay in hostels. But more and more of us do and, if you're over or under 50 this is your place. It's comfortable, caring, there's a lift, and the rooms are both beautiful and comfortable. My wife (also 50+ but she doesn't look it--you're reading this, right, honey?) and I spent a week here in October of 2011 and I echo what I read here and add that this was an inviting, winsome, excellent place that was both sociable and quiet: a wonderful combination. The pub being in the basement, and the structure being both solid and tall, we were able to get to sleep far earlier than our younger counterparts...a reality for us...and we returned the favor by being able to get up and about and out without waking them.

Excellent. Best hostel I've stayed in to date.
