My partner and I stayed at the Arpacay Hostel in October '04 for 5 nights and absolutely loved it - we even extended our stay an extra night. If you're looking for somewhere that's comfy, clean, cheap and pretty quiet then this is the place for you. It's not really a party hostel but the green hostel (there are 2 buildings) has a nice courtyard with city views and a lounge area.
There's a computer and internet access is free. Although there's not much around the immediate area, you can catch the tram and in about 3 stops (3 mins) your in a suburb with great restaurants and a huge supermarket/shopping centre. You can also catch the tram to the main tourist part of town - about 10 to 15 mins away.
Prague is great - the people are lovely, the food is fantastic and the beer is cheaper than water! Can't beat it.

In July last year me and 7 friends stayed at the Arpacay in their apartment. It cost only CzK1900 per night (about £40)...£5 per head, including breakfast!!

The apartment is large with 3 single beds in a large room with kitchen facilities, a fridge and table plus an additional 2 bedrooms, one with a double and single bed and the other with 2 single beds.

There is even a small rooftop terrace with excellent views of the Prague architecture.

The Arpacay is only about 150m from the Smichov Train and Metro Station (about 4-5 stops to the city centre) and the number 12 tram runs right outside.
