“the best location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2009

The best thing about hotel Residence Trinidad is the location. It is located just in the middle of all main monuments, under the Prague Castle. The metro and tram station is just across the street, but I thing, you will not need one, as all the monuments are in walking distance from hotel. The hotel is small, only 18 rooms and very quite. The rooms are spacious, with new large bathroom. Some of the rooms have lovely view of Prague Castle - even we have booked the room without this view, we got the one with. The staff at the reception are very friendly and helpful. I have sped 3 days in Prague. I would come back next year for sure and I am going to stay in hotel Trinidad again. I could recoment it to everyone.

I have stayed at Residence Trinidad on November 2008 and we had very good time with my friends. The location is excellent. Even you are few minutes from all the monuments the place where the hotel is is very quiet. It is true, that the rooms are little bit of oldfashioned and overstayed, but for the price we payed, we expected less than this. The price was really reasonable and do not forget, that for this price you stay just in the centre under the lovely Prague Castle!!!
The staff at the reception desk were allways very friendly and helpfull. They helped us with all of our needs. Thay gave us a city map (free of charge), organized a city tour (we were pick up at the hotel). They were allways ready to answer all our guestions.
The breakfast was poor, but exactly what we expected from small hotel like this.
The atmosfer there is very frinedly a familier and I would definitily recomend this hotel to all of my friends. If I go back to Prague, I would stay there for sure.

Without kids I would stay far away from city center for less price and better services. But having two of them in hands this is best offer I found : price/location is brilliant.

Pros:
- Price is nice - for 79 euro we got two rooms with big bathroom. Kids were enjoining there ;)
- Location is very good: Castel and Old town is just in 5 min walk. Also, there is a metro station, tram in 100 meters from hotel.
- Two other restaurants in same building.

Cons:
- Furniture is quite old and scratched.
- Restaurant is very small with no windows because it is on -1.
- Breakfast menu is for 3*** hotel maximum.
- No ATM near the hotel. Nearest ATM is in 400 meter across the river. You can buy some food in cafe using Euro and get change in CZK. But rate looks attractive only for cafe-owners. ;) it was 19 fro 1 euro in my case when official rate was 25.
- No parking space. I had to park across the river (5 min walk) for 600 CZK per 24 hours. Not chip.

My husband and I stayed one night for a quick trip to Prague. We printed a map of the location off the hotels.com confirmation e-mail and it gave us the wrong map. We were just across the river, so no biggie, but make sure you know where you're going :)

Check-in: fast and the receptionist was friendly. We didn't see the typical rack of brochures available at most hotels, which may have been helpful since it was our 1st time in Prague but we managed. We needed to provide our passport numbers, so don't forget to have yours handy.

Room: very clean and spacious, high ceilings, somewhat tacky decor but at least they were trying. The bathroom is nice, clean, with a big bathtub (no shower). I'd recommend bringing your own hairdryer if you're staying longer than a night or 2 or are picky. The one in our bathroom was more like a reverse vacuum cleaner! The queen sized bed was comfortable. There were only 4 rooms on our floor, so it was fairly quiet. The street traffic is a little noisy with the tram right there, but it didn't bother us at all. There was a nice view towards the river and the castle. Walking anywhere was no problem for us; we didn't even take the train once. Be sure to bring comfortable walking shoes! The area between the hotel and Charles Bridge was really nice- some decent restaurants with beer gardens nearby. We were able to leave our bags at the reception desk after check-out for a couple hours, which made for a much easier walk up to the castle.

Breakfast: a little odd. The restaurant is in the ground floor of the hotel. It's small and it was a little confusing what to do. There were 2 tables of limited cold items, but no plates out! The staff eventually brought some but it wasn't exactly clear that you had to order eggs, etc. On the menu there is an option for "scrambled eggs with bacon" as well as "bacon eggs". We figured the former would be with bacon on the side, but nope, they were scrambled right in. This would have been fine but the bacon was warm, not really cooked through. Being pregnant, this irked me, but hey maybe that's how it's done in CZ. A funny thing on their menu is the option for "Hamaneggs"--i can only assume they mean "ham and eggs"! We got a laugh out of that one.

Overall, we would stay here again. The location and facilities couldn't be beat for the price we paid (71 euro). I would NOT recommed this hotel for those who have difficulty going up or down stairs, as the (very modern and cool) elevator stops between floors and you have to go up or down a flight to get to your room.

The most part of staff are unfriendly and not polite. One of the crew members not help us even to carry our luggage in the entrance steps. The room is reasonable, but the prices from "casttle view" should be "metro view".

We have booked one double bed and a twin bed room was presented like the only option to us. As we were in the honey moon the hotel was warmed a lot during the booking service. Definetly not a good choice considering the prices and the negative points of Residence Trinidad.

My niece and I visited Prague in September 2005 and stayed four days at Residence Trinidad. The room vas very clean and spacious. Loved the high ceilings. It has an excellent location. Walking distance to most of the main attractions. The only complain was the restaurant, which closes too early. But overall it's a nice place to stay. We recommend it.
