“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2011

Great location right on the river and walking distance to Old Town. Rooms were very large, but rather basic, almost like a Marriott Courtyard. Bathroom was small but suitably appointed. Lobby, bar, and public areas were nice, but we didn't spend much time in the hotel. Staff was friendly.

The hotel is in a fantastic location and was not expensive but this hotel is far from a 5*. I would say it is a a good 3*. The service at breakfast was pretty poor. Reception staff on the other hand were really friendly and helpful.

The hotel was clean and fit for purpose but it is in need of a refurbish. Would recommend the hotel as long as your expectations aren't too high!

I decided to take my wife away for her 30th birthday we spent a long weekend 3 days in this beautiful place - booked everything direct with great communications from the Hotel staff - nothing was left uncovered the staff helped with everything - the limousine service from the airport was a must. they made us feel really really special - we booked a junior suite and was astonished at the cleanliness and standards - we were given the corner suite with full access to the vip lounge which was great with internet , newspapers refreshing fruit and coffee etc.
the suite itself was the best it has a large bedroom with bathroom set off - with a doorway to a lounge area with another beautiful bathroom but the gem is behind the patio doors where you walk onto the corner patio overlooking the river and the beautiful postcard views - the location was superb easy to get to everything - the food and wine was great on the one evening we stayed in the hotel restaurant due to the loyalty that the staff had built with us fantastic piano cocktails everything you could wish for - we spent the other evenings in the town - the staff could not have done anymore for us - another great gesture / surprise
was after an afternoons site seeing we arrived back to find a chilled bottle of chamagne and strawberrys waiting in the lounge area with a lovely note to my wife wishing her an happy birthday . as stated before great staff - great location - great value - it made me HUSBAND OF THE YEAR .

Room Tip: speak directly to the staff - very helpful

The presdient is not a 5 star hotel, not even a 4 start hotel . The rooms are furnished pre 1960 , no colour , no luxuries and the tv should be in a museum. The breakfast was awful, the hot food was cold and service was patchy. The Spa is a joke and the welness centre was closed. All the staff we encluntered we miserable . The only positives are the location , very close to the good Barok resturant and the rooms were clean. If you are from the US or Uk do yourself a favour and stay in one of the large hotel chains which are plentiful in the city.

location is great.
but: air condition not strong and noisy. decor old fashioned; no gym but there is an arrangement with the intercontinental hotel where gym is great. towels were not clean on arrival. soap etc - not pampering - very simple. breakfast is good and till a late hour which makes it comfortable. free internet - great. ok hotel but far from being a 5 star one,

We were very happy with this hotel, and the location was a major plus. We could walk to most of the major attractions. Since it is located on the river, we walked to the Charles Bridge both during the day and at night.

Rooms were large and clean. Our only complaint was that the A/C did not work correctly. It seemed to cool a little but would not cool enough to be comfortable, especially at night. The buffet breakfast was very good with choices for everyone. Staff was helpful, friendly, and attentive with good English.

Would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

We stayed here for 3 nights this week (Sunday to Weds) and had a very pleasant stay. Despite the hotel not having our reservation on arrival (booked via BA - receptionist said their computers were down so not sure where the fault lies) we were found a room as they seemed fairly quiet - luckily as it was 10.30pm!! The room was pretty large and spotless. Standard is probably 4 star overall - service was patchy sometimes but perhaps that depends on the staff. The hotel was very very hot though and we had to open windows. Our room overlooked the main road so there was a little noise but we also had a lovely view of the river. We were so tired we didnt notice the cars! Breakfast was ok - fried eggs, bacon, scrambled eggs, fruit, cereals, pastries, yoghurts etc. You could also make toast. Something for everyone. Free internet/wi-fi is a definite plus when you have a smart phone. Location was excellent - we could walk to Old Town in 10 mins max once we figured out the quickest route and Charles Bridge is max 10-15 mins walk. The bed was enormous and very comfortable. Toiletries were very nice. I would be more than happy to stay here again. Very slight negatives - very expensive bar (£5 for a bottle of beer!) and smoking allowed in the bar, but that's common in Prague we found and there are plenty of places to drink without needing to use the hotel bar! A fantastic city break that was certainly enhanced by our stay here and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone considering it.
