“Great location and very nice hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW

Hotel ideally located to go visit Prague, and right next-to metro access.
Quiet, clean, and spacious standard room, with firm bed and courteous staff.
Perfect place to rest after long hours of walking around Prague city.
Very nice hotel. Me and my wife really appreciated it.

Room Tip: We had the room 7 on the 1st floor, at the back of the hotel, so no noise (if any) from the pedestri...

This is a very nice small (boutique?) hotel with a friendly and courteous staff located in a convenient location to where all the action is (and, of course, Old Town Square). We wanted a hotel with old world charm and this hotel has all of that and more. In fact, it's a tad dated and could use some updated room furniture. The bathrooms were immaculate and modern, however, larger deluxe rooms only have bathtubs; after two nights we downgraded to a smaller room just to get a shower. The continental breakfast was decent but after three mornings got somewhat redundant and mediocre. To be honest, we stayed at the hotel for seven nights: my mission was to find the best value for that long of a stay (trying to keep the average per night cost at or below $100 per night). For about $25 more per night, you should consider the Savic or U-Prince, both nicer and with even better locations ; had we stayed for 3 or 4 nights, those two hotels would have been our choices (look for Internet deals for those two to get the price below $135 as those deals are out there). Not too far from the Liberty is another 4-star highly rated hotel, The Friday Hotel, which seems to be equally as good as The Liberty. Finally, while we enjoyed our stay, the staff was not all that knowledgeable (helpful but...); in fact they left us stranded at the airport without a driver to pick us up (but did upgrade our first two-night stay and reimburse us cab fare for our troubles). The manager was excellent, The young ladies working at their cafe attentive, polite, and cute. So, the point to all of this is that Prague has MANY good hotels, this is one, but it's not perfact.

Room Tip: Compare with Savic, U-Prince, and Friday. U-Prince would be our next stay.

Dear Mr. David A.,
Thank you very much for the time you spent sharing your travel experiences on Tripadvisor.
I am glad to read that you appreciated our location, the old world charme of the hotel, and the courtesy of my staff. I am sorry for the delay of the driver which came to pick you up at the airport and I feel to renovate my excuse.

In the meanwhile I have to comment some your sentences, because I think that all the Tripadvisor followers, deserve correct information before to choose one hotel or organize one trip.
Basically it is not true that all the deluxe room have a bathtub. We have some deluxe with the shower as well.
I would like also to remind you that you did not decide to move in a standard room for the shower.
In true you did a reservation in a standard room and I decided to upgrade you in a deluxe room free of charge, to compensate the delay of the driver. Originally the reservation was for 2 nights but after your check in you wanted to prolong your stay and just because we did not have availability in a deluxe room we had to move you in a standard.
I was thinking that before to write any comment about one hotel, you should stay there, but I can see that you are recommending some places even if you have never been there.
I think that this is not fair. And not just for my hotel but also for the Tripadvisor community.
Anyway In general I am glad to read that in the end of the story you had a great time also with us.

My Best Regard

Luca Sebastianelli

Initially we were put off by the triangular fabric above the bed, but after reading other reviews we booked three nights in Prague. The hotel is fantastic with a huge bedroom and plenty of storage space, the bathroom is luxurious with a marble double sink and large bath.

The only negatives were the shower not having a wall mounting and the dearth of any entertaining TV; there's only so long you can watch Russia Today...

Room Tip: Back rooms quieter

Great and friendly personal. Nice rooms and very good breakfast (I miss it everymorning :)) . I appreciate the location - only few steps from Wenceslas sq - but still a quiet place if you need to work. I can highly recommend.

Having travelled to Prague on many occasions we decided on a low season weeklong stay hoping for the best weather to be expected on the first week of February.
The Liberty Hotel is perfectly situated. Right on the pedestrian area (but close enough to road traffic so your airport transfer is almost door-to-door), and having 3 Metro entries/exits (albeit from the same staion Mustek) on a 100m radius. Shops and restaurants abound in the area but for local cuisine you would be hard pressed to find something non-touristic in the vicinity.
The ease of using public transport in Prague and its efficiency is why we decided on a tram ride+metro on our way to the hotel, the other being the flight arriving too early for an immediate check-in.
Our fears were quickly laid to rest when the front desk staff checked us-in right away and gave us an introductory tour of our room and the facilities.
The room was the Deluxe room right above the entrance, and it provided us with lots of space, lots of ambient light from its three tall windows, lots of furniture and seating options and the especially charming experience of stepping out into the only balcony and unruffling and unrolling the flags from their staffs each morning after the windy nights.
With plenty of available storage our stuff dissapeared immediately from view and we were able to enjoy this vintage looking accomodation as if we lived there for some time.
The bathroom is large with twin sinks and fully equipped but fittings and furnishings show their age here more than anywhere.
Breakfast is served in a small restaurant below ground-floor that also has the ambiance and decor in tune with the rest of the hotel.
Buffet cold-cuts and the mandatory eggs/sausages/bacon with separate table for fruits, sweets and the ubiquitos cereals, well...the food is ok but nothing special, but lets say it suits the average needs and can last until an early lunch midday. The upside is that the menu is slightly altered every other day so you would not get tired too quickly of the same selection day in day out.
There were a few quirks such as the leaking sink and the difficulty in operating the tv due to the flimsy remote control and its ever low battery, and some of these issues, while immediately addressed, were solved only after several attempts.
But cleanliness was adequate, and staff involvment in almost everything they did seemed genuine - from the all male front desk staff always very curteous and prompt to the waitresses in the breakfast restaurant getting in your way and making huge amounts of noise banging plates and rattling cutleries.
The hotel is rated 4star and has all the amenities you would expect and perhaps more than what you would find elsewhere in the city in similarly priced and located hotels. From the small but imposing doors to the small lobby, everything is properly sized and efficient enough so you are not left wanting for more. The staircase is large and airy and the elevator surprisingly spacious. The general feeling is of a large old exclusive 19th century hotel but with everything slightly downsized.
Upon our check-out we had arranged for a transfer to the airport by car and had the driver surprisingly pull up right in front of the hotel (nice touch given the chilly morning and heavy bags but also made possible by the early hours before the tourists and locals got a chance to start their busy day).
We very much liked the Liberty Hotel and it shows amazing value given the rates available for the low-season of February and we fully recommend this establishment and also this period of travel as you can almost have the shops/restaurants/attractions all to yourselves.

Room Tip: Deluxe rooms!
