“Great Hotel. Perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2008

Just come back from Prague where we stayed at the Art Deco Imperial hotel. Arrived at 08.15 in the morning to leave luggage, but was given a room immediately, and an upgrade too!!
Staff were perfect, and couldn't have helped more. The room (403) was very grand, with marble bathroom, bath, 2 showers, and 2 toilets.(1 seperate) Art deco decoration is over the top, but thats why you go there. Very central, tram stop in front of hotel, metro station 2 minutes walk. Old town is a nice 5 - 10 minute walk, with the municipall house just up the road.
Would defineatly go back to this hotel again!!

Breakfast: very good buffet.

Rooms: clean, nicely appointed, quiet. Marble bathrooms.

Internet: Free in the 2 PC's in the lobby. Reasonable price in the room.

Stayed with my husband at the Imperial for 4 nights in early October. It is hard to find anything negative to say about our experience here at all. The hotel is newly refurbished (2007), beautifully appointed and there has been a great amount of attention to detail. Our room was imacculate, with a beautiful marble bathroom, everything worked and it was very comfortable. We really looked forward to going back to it each day to recover from all the sightseeing we did!
The Imperial Cafe provided a good breakfast, (have to say, the omlette station was the best option for hot food), and we also enjoyed two very good lunches here, which were extremelly good value, taking into consideration the qualiity of the food and the beautiful surroundings.
The hotel is quite conveniently located, approximately a 15 minute stroll to the old town square and about 25 minutes to the Charles Bridge. The Castle complex took about 40 minutes to reach, but all walks are lovely in this beautiful city.
The service at the hotel was always excellent and the hotel staff were very polite and friendly, in fact we found almost everyone we encountered in Prague to be the same.
We had a really lovely stay, and I am sure that at some point in the future we will visit Prague again and we will almost certainly stop at the Imperial. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

My husband and I stayed at the Imperial with two friends of ours (another couple) for two nights. We ultimately chose this hotel because of it's location, it's style, and because it has a parking garage. The parking garage was very important to us as we had just picked up a new car in Germany. Although I could not find information about the parking garage on the hotel's website; I emailed the hotel and was given a prompt, accurate response. Upon arrival, the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. They immediately took our luggage and parked the car for us. We were also given great advice for sight seeing, restaurants, etc. The room was a decent size and had a safe, mini-bar and temperature control; the bed was fairly comfortable; and the bathroom was great-included heated floor, large tub and shower, dual flush toilet, makeup mirror, hairdryer, and nice toiletries (which I'm still using the extras at home!) Although we did not eat a meal in the cafe, we did have desert. The four of us each ordered something different and all loved it! My husband loved the hot chocolate-literally melted chocolate in a mug! This was a great way to warm up after sight seeing in the chilly weather!

  • Liked — The location-walking distance to just about all sights
  • Disliked — Nothing-loved it!

Booked as a last minute relaxing weekend with Mum. Great hotel, fantastic rooms, friendly and helpfull staff and near everything, vast choice for delicious breakfast. What more could you ask for? Bathroom very compact but loved the heated tiles and mirrors and music can be played through speakers while in there. We also found a fabulous bar accross the road on the way into town with great food, entertaining cocktail barman and live salsa type music. We would return to the hotel and have already recommended it to friends.

  • Liked — Fantastic service, lovely rooms, great breakfast and very central
  • Disliked — Small Bathroom and tram noise

After the NY Times wrote a short item about the renovated Imperial, we booked a double for a planned trip to Prague. The Times item was inspired by the hotel's renovation, with its unusual Art Moderne mosaic and tile work. The room was great. Bed was fabulous, bathroom great. Beautiful marble in bath. Carpet very new. Breakfast in gorgeous tiled dining room and completely over the top, from hot everything to unbelievable pastries.

  • Liked — unusual decoration and brand new facilities, plus amazing breakfast
  • Disliked — distance from town center
