“Perfect hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012

This is a truly impressive hotel. The reception and all staff were very helpful, the room clean and deco throughout the hotel beautiful. The breakfast in the restaurant was excellent and filled us up so much we didn't need lunch. If you intend to eat dinner in the hotel book well in advance - we couldn't get in when we wanted to do. Whilst not in the main tourist area it was a short walk to the Old Town and handy for public transport.

Room Tip: The standard room was excellent - we couldn't have asked for a nicer room. We requested a high f...

If you want to hark back to the 1920's and flappers and the charleston, then this is the hotel for you. From the moment I first made contact with them to the time when my wife and I said goodbye to the reception staff, the welcome we received could not have been more welcoming or accommodating.

Nothing was to much trouble, from reserving tickets for concerts, to organising a luxury car to take us to and from the airport, everything ran a smooth as clockwork.

I don't know of anywhere else that we have been to around the world, that compares with the "wow" factor that breakfast in the Imperial Cafe brings. Art Deco everywhere! - fabulous.

Rooms are well appointed and large enough to meet the needs of even the most demanding traveller. Only point worth mentioning is that the bath sides are higher than what we have experienced before, which if you are older tourists - as we are - can make things a little difficult getting in and out of the water, however you can request a non slip bath mat from housekeeping to put in the bottom of the bath, to assist your purchase in and out as necessary.

We ate in the restaurant on the Saturday night, and it was the best meal we had in Prague during our eight day stay. The resident chef - Zdenek Pohlreich cooks to an extremely high standard, certainly equivalent to a four / five star restaurant in England.

We had a three course meal, with white and red wine, a glass of port all for just over £90 inc an £8 tip added as a 10% service charge. Really good value for money.

If we were to go back to Prague again, this would be the only hotel that we would stay at.

Room Tip: We were in 417 which is at the back of the hotel, nice and quiet.

Thankfully not a corporate hotel, but one with its own style. Decor very pleasing to the eye. Room comfortable with luxurious bathroom, not the latest TV but who cares about that when the room is clean and comfortable?
Breakfast buffet is first class serving (I think) from 6 30 to 10 30. Choice of hot breakfast, sausage, bacon, eggs and so on, cold meat, fish, cheese, cereal and more.
Location is good, a five minute walk to Old Town Square. There is a reasonably priced supermarket and the large Palladium shopping centre just up the road.
Service is excellent, we arrived at noon, too early to check into our room, but no problem with leaving our luggage.
Hotel car service to airport was convenient and reasonably priced.
A great three night stay.

This is a lovely atmospheric hotel in the true Art Deco style so do not go there if you want ultra modern bedrooms although a fairly recent renovation means that fitments are well maintained and comfortable. The location is excellent within walking distance of most of the centre of Prague. The staff were not to be faulted particularly the ultra efficient concierge who was most helpful. The restaurant is also excellent but heed the warning to reserve a table particularly on Friday or Saturday evening - as we found out to our cost. The one meal we managed to eat there in the evening was delicious - fallow deer as good as any steak. This is a cafe/restaurant in true Czech style where you can eat sandwiches or choose fine dining off the same menu and it is open from 11am through to late continually. Breakfast was of a high standard with lots of choice. One negative point was wifi is not free in bedrooms although free Internet access is available in the lobby. Also our hair dryer would only work on low power without overheating every 30 secs. Otherwise a first rate very clean and historic hotel.

Stayed in this hotel in early December in order to experience Prague in the winter. I booked via a ba.com package which was excellent value. The hotel was in a very good location, near to all of the sites and markets. The rooms were a high standard. Used the hotel car service to and from the airport which couldn't be faulted and also to get to the castle. The staff were all very helpful. The real surprise was the restaurant. You have to book at the weekend, but it is well worth the effort. This is also where the excellent breakfast is served.
I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are planning to stay in Prague.
