“There are better options”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

I booked this hotel because the one I always visit was full. A proper reception is highly important to me, so being received by an unfriendly staff wasn't the best first impression. People are allowed to smoke in the reception so you're also received by a lot of smoke. No curtain in the shower so the bathroom gets really messy after a shower. The hotel belongs to a sports facility so there are many young people playing / training and it wasn't uncommon to listen to them talking loud outside in the middle of the night, making it hard to catch sleep. Positives: the room was big, comfortable and a good buffet-breakfast was included in the price. It is easy to reach despite its location far away from the city center. However, I don't think I'll go back there.

From what I read in the previews I knew what to expect from the hotel (I think this is the first step that you need to do before you decide which hotel you want or not want to stay). The hotel is situated in a quiet area of Prague, full of greenery. Do not expect anything spectacular from the hotel which was built in 1973! However, the hotel is at a satisfactory level of hygiene, towels are changed daily breakfast satisfies even the level of 3 star hotel. It is a buffet breakfast that is uniform but satisfies all the criteria (muesli, yoghurt, tea, coffee, juice, water, cured meats, cheese, butter, jam, hot dogs and sausages). There is no safety box in rooms an dno
Staff at the hotel was totally cold and unfriendly, no help from them. Someone wrote that the tram stations away! On the contrary, Hotel is located next to the tram, number 24 of which goes directly into the center of Prague 20 min. Otherwise, the public transport in Prague is very good. An accurate and reliable. A wonderful Italian restaurant Topo Mascia is located near the hotel, street Vršovička 80 (street on which the moving tram).

we stayed 5 days in this hotel. the rooms are poor, it looks like a cheap motel inside. nothing is new in the hotel. the good part is that is very quiet and acceptable clean. it is situated in a large park full of football and tennis fields and an olympic pool. it is 3 minutes far from the stadium of slavia praga, and 5 minutel to a medium mall with an tesco super marker. the best part is that, unless the hotel is a bit far from the center, from the very front of the hotel the bus and tram leaves. you can get in the historic center within 15 minutes. it is a quiet neibourhood with schools and restaurants. we felt very secure there because the police were everywhere.

it is a nice hotel for some days in prague, but only if you don't stay inside very long :)

Room Tip: i think all rooms are the same, those at the first floor sure are the same

IMHO this is average Hotel for people who would like to visit Prague on a budget. On arriving day (around 3 PM) rooms wasn't ready and on one bed blanket was still wet. Maid changed blanket after few hand signs (she doesn't speaks English). Rooms and bathroom are clean with basic equipment. Heating was excellent. Hotel staff mostly doesn't speaks English and, but they can understand Slavic language (like Croatian). Hotel is situated near the sport center "Slavia" and I think that most of their guests are visiting teams.
If you want visit Prague there is a nearby tramway station "Kubanske namesti" and with line 22,24, or 6 you may reach city centre. You may buy transportation ticket in "Trafika" which is located near returning (from city centre) tram station and price is 24 KCS. Don't forget to validate ticket in tramway because without that the ticket is invalid and fine is very high.

Room was warm, clean and smelled good, but we found spider web in bathroom. Also, when we started water for the first time, it was brownish for 30-40 seconds (probably because it wasn't used for some time). Beds were separated. Whitelinen was clean, but with few small holes in it. Towels weren't change not once. Breakfast (cold buffet) was fresh, abundant, but same every morning. It included 4 kinds of ham&sausages, 1 kind of hard cheese, cereals, cake, 2 kinds of fruit, yoghurt, milk, tea, coffee, apple juice, orange juice. And, interesting, no eggs included! Hotel has free internet room with one computer and a cheap bar at the recepcion (coffee 1,20e, beer 1,20e). Usual price of beer in town is 1,60e.

Slavia is (by tram or by tram/underground combo) 20 minutes away from center, in not so bad neighbourhood. It is near to 0 - 24 Tesco supermaket. For all means of transport you buy 30-minutes ticket (approximatelly 1e). Tram station is cca 200m from hotel.

So, we can say Slavia gives good value for price.

All furniture is scratched. It seems the shelf in bahtroom was gnawed by chipmunk or squirrel.
The shower cubicle is very small and cramped with the door which was hard to open or close.
Bad linen and towels were too old with holes.
Everyday the door handle of bathroom fell down.
Breakfast was poor and the tableware was chipped.
THE WORST THING IN HOTEL IS SMOKE which hangs in the lobby and it percolates in a corridor where was our room. On reception they have to give all guests respirators.
In Prague there are a lot of good 3-stars hotels at good price. It isn't Slavia!!!
I regret that I couldn't change hotel, because it was a group tour and the name of hotel I know in the last moment
