“Budget Hotel in a great city”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

Spent 4 nights in City Club, Prague in May, 2012. This place is definately a budget hotel. No complaints whatsoever about our deal - £150 pp for 4 nights accommodation with breakfast including flights from Newcastle. Although this building is part of a multi storey terraced property, typical of Prague, the rooms were modern and our on-suite bathroom was well appointed. We loved the Prague architecture and all of the main sights are within walking distance of this hotel but if you aren't prepared to walk then this is not the place for you. There is plenty to see in Prague and it was easy to fill three days. They have some of the best beers in the world at very reasonable prices unless you it the busy tourist traps in the city centre. Guest staying at the City Club would be advised to get down for breakfast early as when the hot food (hot dogs and scrambled eggs) is finished then that is it - jam rolls and coffee. All in all though we couldn't fault this place for the price.

Nice and clean hotel in quite zone, 15 min walk from city center.
Staff are very friendly but slow. Breakfast in restaurant is very limited. Seems half of required for 3 star hotel. Have 4 places for warm food and 4 places for cold food, only 2 of 4 served.
2 types of salami, 1 type cheese, scrambled eggs and frankfurter sausages every day. If have teen excursion in hotel, all food disappear very quick.
Market near hotel is swindler / robber - no prices visible, no receipts, pay as salesman say.
Rooms with yard view are very quiet, nice beds - perfect sleep.

Room Tip: Rooms on road side are noisy because of road traffic. Rooms with yard view are very quiet, nice bed...

As other people have said, it is just a bed for the night, and my 2 issues were as follows:

1: A good 15+ minute walk to get into the town
2: The bed I found extremely uncomfortable, and too hard for my liking. I did not get much sleep, but that may just be personal preference.

For the price, it isn't a bad hotel :) but only consider it if you don't mind/can manage the long walk into town.

We have just returned from Prague and have all really enjoyed the experience. The hotel was very clean (beds changed daily) rooms spacious and the staff friendly. We have no complaints at all about the hotel. We had no problems using our own electical equipment as previously mentioned in a review (hair drier, straightners and chargers all used without any problems). The breakfast was really nice and again we had no complaints. The walk to the old town wasn't a great distance (approximately a 10-15 minute walk). Overall I would recommend this hotel and would stay again. Prague is a beautiful city and there is plenty to see and do.

I don't know how it gets a 3 star rating - Location is ok if you enjoy long walks. Rooms are clean and beds changed every day but hotel does not offer food apart from breakfast. Their idea of a bar is few cans of beer and wine. You are not allowed to use your own electrical equipment but you can borrow a hair drier from reception but no kettle. Staff are not interested in helping.

If you treat this as a bed only then room is fine. If you want any comfort, stay elsewhere
